Information about ACT and PARCC Testing

Beginning this Spring, there will be significant changes to large-scale testing for high school students in Illinois.
ACT, PLAN, EXPLORE: March 3rd— Early Dismissal for 9th, 10th, & 11th graders; non-attendance for 12th graders (no lunch served) PARCC Testing: March & May — All students in attendance; non-testing students have late arrival (regular lunch & bus schedules) All Wheaton North Juniors will be taking the ACT+ (includes Writing) on March 3, 2015. This is a college-reportable ACT that has previously been given in April. On this day, seniors have no school. Freshmen and Sophomores will participate in practice testing. Students will be dismissed at approximately 11:30 AM, following testing, on March 3, 2015. PARCC Testing will also take place this Spring. PARCC is a required Illinois assessment that evaluates the Common Core State Standards. High School PARCC Testing has two phases: Performance-based Assessment (PBA) on March 16-20, 2015 and End-ofYear Assessment (EOY) on May 12-15, 2015. Students in the following courses will be taking PARCC tests in March & May:
Math: ALL students enrolled in Algebra 1
English: ALL students enrolled in Freshman English and Advanced Freshman English.
All other students not enrolled in the PARCC testing courses should report to school by 8:45 am on the late start testing days in both March and May. Day 1 - Monday, March 16
