Sunday Reflection 11th Sunday of Ordinary Time “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body.” -2 Corinthians 5:10

We are all accountable for the gifts God has given us – our time, our talent and our treasure. Each of us is accountable not only for our own life but for the lives of others as well. One day God will ask each of us what did we do with the gifts we were given. How will you respond?

Weekly Reflection

Today was my last day, and I wanted to thank everyone in the parish. Hopefully I was able to bring Christ to the homeless of Hoboken. I have learned a lot from the homeless By Matthew Ziarnik and this internship will impact me for the rest of my life. I would like to leave with this final quote from John 15:12, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

PARISH OFFICE HOURS

The moment that we sacrifice anything for another person, then we are truly serving Christ. When we care for our children or our friends, out of true love, then we are serving Christ.

Monday g Tuesday g Thursday Wednesday Friday

There is a lot that is wrong in the world today and many people may ask where is God? But, the better question to ask is what can I do with God’s blessings today to make the world better. We may complain about world hunger, but do we truly do anything to help other people in the world? If everyone does their part to make the world around us better everyday, then we will truly be disciples of Christ.

Monday g Tuesday g Thursday Wednesday Friday Saturday Sunday

I urge the people in this parish to always care for the sick, the homeless, and those who are marginalized by society. We need to reach out to them and help them. One of the best way to help the marginalized of society today is to spend time with them. This way they will fully feel like members of society.

But, please never forget to LOVE, because when we LOVE, God is shining through us.

WAYS TO GIVE LEGACY FUND

Aiming to secure the sustainability of parish ministries and outreach programs, the Legacy Fund provides funding for parish specific endeavors such as outreach programs, maintaining our buildings and enhancing ministries. The Legacy Fund is a restricted fund, meaning that 100% of the contributions received directly support the Church and are not subject to an Archdiocesan tax. Please consider letting others know of parish's importance to you at life's hallmarks, from a milestone birthday, anniversary or remembering a loved one. Some parishioners have asked friends and family to donate to the Fund in lieu of flowers or gifts at important life moments. Donations are made by check (please include a note designating the donation to the Legacy Fund) or by donating via FaithDirect at www.faithdirect. net, using the parish code and choosing to donate to the Legacy Fund. For more information, please contact the parish office. Thank you for your generosity in making a gift or remembrance to the Legacy Fund.

MATCHING GIFTS

Many employers offer employees the opportunity to make contributions to charitable organizations such as Ss Peter & Paul through: 1. Payroll withholding deposited into the employer controlled trust account(s) 2. Credit card donations deposited into the employer's controlled trust account(s) 3. Personal checks paid to the employer's controlled trust account(s) 4. Matching gifts 5. Paid work days to serve as a volunteer

SECURITIES

By giving appreciated securities that you have owned for more than a year, your charitable deduction is the fair market value of the securities on the day of the gift. Such gifts provide income tax savings and eliminate your capital gains tax liability.

WILLS & ESTATES

The parish can be remembered in your Will while still providing for your loved ones. Suggested wording for such bequests is: I give the sum of $—— (or —— % of my estate) to the Church of ——, for its general purposes (or something more specific of your choosing).

LIFE INSURANCE

Consider naming Ss Peter and Paul Church as the beneficiary or owner of a new life insurance policy or the beneficiary of an existing policy. For a young adult, the premium for purchasing a new policy is minimal, yet the lasting benefits to the parish are significant.

RETIREMENT PLANS

Consider naming the Church as the beneficiary or contingent beneficiary on your Beneficiary Designation of your retirement plan, IRA or 401(k). It’s easy, requires no attorney or fee, and is tax advantageous.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

The parish publishes the amount of the previous month’s collection in The Handbook as well as on the website as the cumulated amount tallied against budgeted expenses. If you would like to discuss the financial situation of the parish in more details, please contact the Finance Council through the Parish Secretary.

At Shipwrecked, kids discover that Jesus rescues them! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Sail Away Sendoff that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. HAPPY

Father’s Day God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.

We prayer for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family, and faith in joy and sacrifice. We pray for our own fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow. We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice. We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.
