Introduction

Dear St. Andrew Community, This summer is all about community inside and outside our church building. Community, or Koinonia (Κοινωνία), is a word that describes the way the early church followers gathered for Communion, for fellowship, and for building up their faith together. In Greek, Koinonia refers to the common currency of life, and from that we get the English word “coin.” Together, we practice the love of neighbor and stranger, study the scriptures, engage in spiritual practices, and we support the community in ways that build up the body of Christ. Summer is a time to take a few deep breaths and listen to the spirit. Wherever your journey takes you this summer, we hope you will refer to the chronological index in the back of the Summer Ministry Listing and add some of the events to your calendar. How can you engage your faith this summer? Don’t miss the incredible monthly Love Bus service days, the Grill Team fellowship and food days, and the opportunities for kids and youth all summer! New this summer, beginning July 12th, will be Wednesday Community & Classes, offered by Pathways. Classes last four weeks and your family is invited to have dinner together, then choose one of the three adult class options. Childcare will be provided during the class portion of the evening. You may want to join in the Sunset Labyrinth Walks on Tuesday evenings. Perhaps you would like to meet new people on one of our Intergenerational Hikes. Whatever you choose, let it grow your faith and relationships through hospitality, acceptance, compassion and love. Peace to you,

Rev. Annie Arnoldy Pastor of Discipleship
