EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP The Educational Leadership specialisation in the MPhil in Culture and Education is a 2.5-year, part-time programme designed for teachers, viceprincipals, principals and other people involved in Education who are interested in the promotion of the common good through the growth of the individual, the building of community and the revitalising of culture through education. The purpose of the degree is to enable those in Education to offer ethical and practical leadership in response to their communitiesí concern for culture, society and education.

Structure OF THE PROGRAMME
KEY FEATURES OF THE PROGRAMME: • SAQA and DHET registered, accredited by the CHE. • Endorsed by SACE for Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) (Provider No. 11999). • The degree is offered part-time, with block-release contact. Each module lasts a week, offered four times a year, worked around the school calendar. • The degree is at NQF level 9, requiring 7 modules and a research paper. • The programme is offered at the St Augustine campus in Victory Park, Johannesburg. • Satisfactory performance of an Honours degree required. Applicants may also apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). • Limited bursaries are available for qualified students. • New student intake in January and July. Application deadline for January intake is 12 December 2015, although late applications may be considered.
