STAY CONNECTED \

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” — J ohn 15:5

Thank you to everyone who helped make Lent and Easter such a meaningful season here at the church. My spirit is still full from the music, worship experiences, shared meals and other events that brought so many people into community here over the past month. Now spring is settling in, and our lives become busy in other ways. It is important to remember that our faith in God and participation in Christian community is not an event, but a journey and rhythm of life. As many of us will be involved in sporting activities, vacations and other meaningful events that keep us busy, the church is developing new ways to stay connected to this community as well as continue to nurture our faith on the go. We are committed to offering new ways for you to stay connected to what God is doing at HUMC and to find regular inspiration throughout the week. This past month we launched a new smartphone app to help people live stream worship, watch sermons on the go, read daily devotions and engage in small group conversations.

haddonfieldumc.org

In May, we are launching a new podcast called “People of the Story” in which we will have in-depth discussions about relevant faith issues often tying into sermons, current events and even popular culture references. I encourage you to find your way to stay connected and to continue to grow closer to the God who loves us and wants to work through us. On the Journey with You,

Rev. Chris Heckert, Sr. Pastor

VBS: SAVE THE DATE! AUG. 14 -18 This summer, HUMC is hosting a new daytime Vacation Bible School (9am-12pm), Maker Fun Factory! Children will participate in Bible-learning activities, and learn to look for evidence of God all around them through “God Sightings.” Each day concludes with the Funshop Finale to get everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Email Catalina Nolte, [email protected] or Heidi Birdwell at [email protected] for information.

Classes are Wednesday, May 3 and 10, at 7:15pm in Room 304. The class will culminate with a reconstruction of a house church service, including hymns, prayers, a small meal, and communion on May 20 at 11am. All are welcome!
