The record of vaccinations in the passport of OVERAWED did not comply with the Rules of Racing. Tom George was fined £280 as this was his second offence within the previous 12 months. The performance of CRAFTY ROBERTO, which finished seventh, beaten by 30¾ lengths, was considered. Alex Hales could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. Following the race, Bryony Frost reported that the saddle slipped on GILLY GRACE, unplaced. Race 3 - 3:10pm. THE EXTRA PLACES AT totesport.com HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4)

The apparent improvement in form of the winner, BOSS MANS LADDER (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered. The representative of Ben Pauling was interviewed. His comments that the gelding had benefitted from the application of first-time cheekpieces was noted and BOSS MANS LADDER (IRE) was routine tested. Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that YOUNG PHOENIX (IRE), placed sixth, made a bad mistake at the final hurdle. Daniel Hiskett reported that MINELLA WHISPER, placed third, lost its action approaching the home turn. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 4 - 3:40pm. Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that SCORPION PRINCESS (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities. The Veterinary Officer further reported that TEN TIMES BETTER (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose and was struck into on its left fore. Race 5 - 4:10pm.
