Student Contract – Missouri Salesperson Course Student Contract The St. Charles Community College in conjunction with 1st Choice Real Estate School offers the 48hour pre-examination course. Prior to purchasing the coursework the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC) requires all students review and acknowledge this contract. Please keep a copy for your personal records.

Business Hours The school is open during all regular business hours excluding federal holidays and Sundays.

Contacting an Instructor The first day of class you will be provided with instructor contact information.

Background Check Certain criminal convictions may prevent students from receiving or retaining a real estate license. As of Jan. 1, 2011, all applicants must be fingerprinted and have a background check. All questions regarding the fingerprinting or background check, should be directed to the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC) at 1-573-751-2628 or the MREC website at http://pr.mo.gov/realestate.asp.

Course Expiration and Review All pre-examination course lessons must be completed within 180 days from day one of the classroom course.

Course Registration It is important that information on the course registration form is complete and accurate. This is the information that will print on your Certification of Completion. Failure to provide accurate information will result in not receiving course credit. As a school, we must report your successful completion to the MREC – this completion includes your name, address, and phone number. Failure to provide complete and accurate information that requires a replacement certificate will require a $15 certificate replacement fee.

Student Affidavit In registering for a course, you certify that you are the person named and will independently complete all the coursework required. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself and promptly update the registration data to keep it true, accurate, current, and complete. The school maintains the right to suspend or terminate any student, without refund, whose coursework we reasonably believe has been purchased fraudulently, is not being completed by the person who is named on the registration, or for any other reason we warrant.

Tuition If you drop a class, you will receive a 100% refund if the class is dropped one business day before the first meeting. No refund will be given if the class is dropped the day of class or later. You will

receive your refund in the same manner in which payment was made. Therefore, if your payment was made by VISA, MasterCard, or Discover, the refund will be promptly credited directly to the same credit card account. If the payment was made by cash or check, a refund check will be issued to the individual named on the original check/receipted for a cash payment. Refunds should be received within 30 days.

Attendance Policy State law requires that you complete 48 hours of pre-licensing coursework. You must arrive for class on time. You must return from breaks and lunch promptly. Any part of an hour of class that is missed will result in an hour of makeup work. There will be a $25 charge for every hour for this service (paid directly to the instructor). For instance, arrive five minutes late and you will have to make up an hour of coursework at the cost of $25. Due to possible early morning traffic, please give yourself enough time to locate the facility, park and walk to the classroom. You may not be tardy. It is highly recommended you plan on arriving for class 15-30 minutes early to ensure you meet the 100% attendance. Lateness is disruptive and disrespectful to the other students and the instructor. The School and its instructors reserve the right not to allow admittance to class to any student who is late for any reason; this could be for the remaining portion of the class hour for which you are late or for the entire day. We also reserve the right to withhold a course completion certificate to those who are habitually late for class. No refunds will be issued for the any of the above. Cell phones may not be used during class. Turn phones to silent or off. This includes texting. The Missouri Real Estate Commission requires students are provided a 10-minute class break every hour.

Certificates of Completion Certificates of completion will be available immediately from 1st Choice Real Estate School upon completion of the course. It is recommended these certificates be kept in a safe place – a $15 fee will be assessed to replace lost certificates. Per MREC rules and regulations, certificates for the licensing course expire six months after issuance. In this time, you must take and pass the AMP exam, meet fingerprint and background check requirements, complete the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course, and apply for your license through a broker. Student first-time pass rate can affect our school accreditation with the state licensing authority. We want our students to pass the state licensing examination the first time through. The School reserves the right to deny a Certificate of Completion to any student who we feel is not ready to take the state licensing examination. Studying between classes is imperative – if we feel a student is not putting forth enough effort, lacks the required attendance or has not completed home study/practice quiz assignments, we may withhold the course Certificate of Completion with no refund issued.

State Course Requirements You are encouraged to contact the state of Missouri Real Estate Commission for licensing information such as requirements, exclusions, and license renewal information. The MREC can be contacted at 1-573-751-2628.
