Student Self Service Student Aid Summary

This student aid provides students and prospective students basic navigation of MDConnect’s Student Self Service functions.

MDConnect Student Self Service Basic Navigation The Student Center page is shown here and includes the following sections: 1. Academics: where you can search, enroll, and view schedules

Academics Step 1: From the Student Self Service landing page navigate to the Academics section. Click the Search link or Search For Classes button. The Search For Classes page appears which allows you to search for classes by Subject, Course Number, Campus, and/or Location. You can also search for classes by selecting the Browse Course Catalog tab Note: It’s important to navigate using the breadcrumb path located at the top of MDConnect. If you have entered data in the system, MDConnect will prompt you to save your changes before navigating away from the webpage. Important reminder: DO NOT use the back arrow button on the internet browser

You can search classes by one or more search criteria – for example, you can search by location only Back to Content Links

Academics (Contd.) Step 2: Navigate to Enroll from the Academics section. Click the Enroll link or Enroll button. The Select Classes to Add page appears. You can Add, Drop, Swap, or edit classes. You can also View Term Information Note: Once you have added all your classes select Proceed to Step 2 of 3 button to confirm classes. Once you have confirmed your classes select the Finish Enrolling button

If you want to change a class you can use the swap feature (located next to the drop button) Back to Content Links

Academics (Contd.) Step 3: Navigate to My Academics from the Academics section Click the My Academics link. The My Academics page appears providing links to your Academic Requirements, Advisors, Transfer Credit, Course History, Transcript, and Enrollment Verification Note: From the Student Self Service landing page Academic section you can also view your Residency Status and Other Academic options including: • Academic Requirements • Assignments • Class Schedule • Course History • Enrollment Verification • Enrollment: Add, Drop, Edit, Swap • Grades

Enrollment Date Step 1: From the Student Self Service Advisor section click the Details link to view the appointments and class enrollment dates for the new term. The Enroll tab on the Enrollment Dates page appears providing information when your appointment begins and ends

Note: If your enrollment period is open you can select the Add Classes button from this page

Advisor Step 1: From the Student Self Service Advisor section if you have an assigned advisor, click the Details link to notify your academic advisor. The My Academics tab My Advisors page appears

Step 2: Click on the Advisor Name link to see contact details

Credits are now called Units Back to Content Links

Holds Step 1: From the Student Self Service Holds section click on the Details link to view the Your Holds details

Step 2: Click Financial Hold link to view the Reason and Contact information

Step 3: Click the Return button to get back to Your Holds page

You will not be able to register for classes until all holds are cleared Back to Content Links

To Do List Step 1: From the Student Self Service To Do List section click the Details link to view the To Do Item Details page

Schedule Step 1: From the Student Self Service Academics section click the Weekly Schedule link to bring up the My Class Schedule tab on the My Class Schedule page

Finances Step 1: From the Student Self Service Finances section click My Account link to look at your account, 1098-T Form, Fee Invoice, and Charges Due/ePay Step 2: Click on the Fee Invoice button. You will be able to see a the Account Summary with a list of terms Note: If it is your first enrollment you will see only the current term, click on the term link

Finances (Contd.) Fee Invoice page will show the Term, your Name, ID, Residency, and the Program. Note: This page can be printed and will be your official schedule of classes and payment receipt Class Schedule section has the information for the classes you are registered with the Class Number, Course, Campus, Session, Description, Days, Time, Bldg, Hours, if it is a repeat course, Session Start/End, Drop With Refund Date, Withdrawal Date, and Special Fee. The Class Notes field, will have information about any class Credit Units Fee Assessment section represents the fee assessment amount for the credit hour classes for the current term. Note: it will be your responsibility to drop the class before the 100% refund date or you will be liable for the cost of the class Credit Units Fee Payment Summary section will list the Payment Description, Term, Posted Date, and Fees Paid Continuing Education (CE) Fee Assessment section contains the student’s Continuing Education classes that are paid and/or unpaid

Finances (Contd.) Other Charges Posted This Term section you can see current term charges. Note: the tuition and fees for the current term must be paid in full by the due date. Use Charges Due/ePay tab on Account Summary page to make payments Credits Posted This Term section lists Payment Description by item

Finances (Contd.) Step 3: Click on the 1098-T tab, to view your tax years and request online consent approval signature

Step 4: Click the Grant Consent button to allow an online receipt of your 1098-T

Finances (Contd.) Step 5: Click the checkbox to agree to the 1098-T Consent Agreement and click the Submit button

Finances (Contd.) Step 6: Click the Charges Due/ePay tab on the Account Summary page. The Charges Due/ePay page will allow you to make payments using Credit Card (with Service Fee), Electronic Check (No Service Fee) or Nelnet Payment Plan. You can click on the hyperlink and follow the instructions NOTE: Starting Fall 2016, MDC will charge a 2% Service fee for all credit card transactions

Personal Information Step 1: From the Student Self Service Personal Information section click on Personal Information links to update data including Emergency Contact Home Address, Home Phone Number and Email address Step 2: Select Other Personal… from the drop down menu which lists options to update or view your Addresses, Email Addresses, Phone Numbers, Privacy Settings, etc.
