Student Speaker Application 2016 El Camino College Compton Center Graduation The Student Commencement Speaker must be a member of the graduating class and must submit and audition their speech to the selection committee. A speech of up to three minutes will be allowed, on a topic appropriate to the occasion. Graduation is on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tartar Quad (in front of the Library-Student Success Center). Attach this application to the OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE. IMPORTANT: At this time you will sign up for an audition appointment so the panel can hear your speech. The auditions will be held Wednesday, April 6 by appointment, in the Office of Student Life. The selected student speaker will be announced on Friday, April 8, 2016. Selection Process A selection panel will review the manuscripts. Successful candidates will participate in an oral audition. Selection wil be based on content and presentation.
