Study Abroad Office Study Abroad Scholarship Application Any student who has been competitively selected to participate in an approved study abroad program is eligible to apply for the Study Abroad Scholarship. Students are encouraged to complete the application and submit the required paperwork as early as possible to secure a scholarship. Scholarship award amounts will be dependent on GPA, type of program, length of program and number of applicants. Any scholarship money that is awarded to the student will be disbursed by the Scholarship Office through Goldmine. If awarded the Study Abroad Scholarship, you will have to fill out a Responsibilities of Accepting the Study Abroad Scholarship form. Only completed applications will be reviewed. All scholarship applications MUST be typed.

Deadline: Students must submit completed applications two (2) weeks before their departure date.

Upon return to UTEP, each student is required to:  Submit ten high quality photos to the Study Abroad Office  Submit a one-page descriptive summary report

IV. Relationships Question for Scholarship Applicants State law requires that each student identify any relation to a current member of The University of Texas System Board of Regents. A student who is related to a current member of the U.T. System Board of Regents is prohibited from receiving a scholarship unless the scholarship is awarded exclusively based on academic merit or is an athletic scholarship. It is a Class B misdemeanor to file a false statement. Are you related to any member of the U.T. System Board of Regents? If yes, please identify the Board member and the relationship. Applicable relationships include one of the following1. Regent’s—spouse, spouse’s child, spouse’s parent, child’s spouse, parent’s spouse; 2. Regent’s—spouse’s brother or sister, spouse’s grandparent, spouse’s grandchild, brother’s or sister’s spouse, grandparent’s spouse, grandchild’s spouse; 3. Regent’s—parent, daughter, son; 4. Regent’s—bother, sister, grandparent, grandchild; or 5. Regent’s—great-grandparent, great-grandchild, uncle or aunt (brother or sister of parent), nephew or niece (son or daughter of brother or sister).
