October 2012 Release

Personal. Relevant. Actionable. Changing the face of HCM With the October 2012 release, we’ve redesigned our home page so the information displayed is personal and relevant. The tiles update automatically to present data that is always fresh, and if you want to see more details or to take action, those capabilities are just a click away. We’ve taken these same principles of personal, relevant, and actionable, and applied them to SuccessFactors Jam, BizX Mobile, Compensation, and Workforce Analytics. In addition to the new user experience, we made substantial updates across the SuccessFactors BizX Suite. Here are just a few examples: • Global HR made easy. Employee Central has many more languages, currencies and even in region support to comply with local business practices, making it a complete and robust global system. • Turbocharge collaboration. Jam has a new look, numerous performance improvements and a new onboarding wizard to help you reduce the time to contribution from your new hires. • Win more top talent. Recruiting has several updates, making it easier for prospects to apply and recruiters to work together. You’ll also find many further innovations, such as multimedia capabilities in the SuccessFactors Employee Profile, “Actionable Analytics”, and the ability to add external candidates to succession plans. If, in addition to this document, you’d like more details on these highlights, please review the October release summary or join us for one or more OneVoice webcasts.

SUCCESSFACTORS / OCTOBER 2012 RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS

Employee Central: Global HR made easy SuccessFactors Employee Central’s globalization capabilities have expanded significantly with the October release to include system translations for 33 countries, and the ability to operate in over 80 countries by supporting country-specific attributes such as currencies; date, calendar, and address formats; and national ID fields. Additionally, Employee Central is benefitting from SAP’s team of over 200 localization experts to assist in complying with local regulations and reporting in 10 countries in October, expanding to over 50 by the end of 2013. For Employee Central customers seeking to manage payroll in-house via a cloud-based solution, the October release also features data replication and UI integration to the Cloud Payroll solution announced in July. All HR administration and employee-related actions related to payroll (for example, accessing/viewing a recent pay statement) can now be done directly within Employee Central.

Workforce Analytics and Reporting: Actionable analytics When you run reports, you often see items that you’d like to better understand or that you need to fix; however, doing so often has meant navigating to a different product and clicking through several screens. The latest release streamlines the process— when you run a report, if you see an item about which you’d like more information, you can simply click on it. Similarly, if you know you’d like to take action—correct the employee record, update the learning plan, even award a spot bonus—these links appear so you can reach a quick resolution. The links for more information and to initiate action are available from metrics, charts and reports.

Introducing Headlines SuccessFactors Headlines revolutionizes analytics by giving business managers their own “automated data analyst” to help make the best decisions – based on facts, not guesswork. Headlines continually mines an organization’s data, identifies hot spots that require attention, and pushes insights to managers in common business language via mobile devices, email, and the Internet. Managers can not only get more information in a click or two, but also take action – drawing from SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics knowledgebase, which suggests remedies for nearly every situation. See a quick demo here. (Headlines availability is limited to co-innovation customers with the October Release and will be generally available in early 2013.)

The October release also features pre-packaged integrations to strategic partner solutions from Benefitfocus for benefits administration and Workforce Software for workforce management. Integrations include data transfer, as well as single sign-on so that users have a seamless experience across solutions. Additionally, Employee Central’s October release features hierarchical controls for position management, a web-based interface for “time off” requests and approvals, expanded search capabilities, an enhanced “quick card”, and improved administration functionality.

Jam:

More personal, improved onboarding, integrated with Sales OnDemand Turbocharge your work with the new SuccessFactors Jam experience. You can now stay on top of the information you need through the update tiles on the home page or within groups. These tiles deliver critical updates on content, people, groups, data, or tasks. In addition, the new user experience features faster page loading, a simplified navigation structure, and new feed filters so you can more easily locate what you need. Getting employees up to speed as quickly as possible increases their ability to sell more, serve your customers better, and control costs. The new social onboarding capabilities in Jam include a wizard that walks you through the process of selecting pertinent people and groups to follow and offers recommendations—people on the same team or groups that your colleagues participate in and that you should join. Jam is already integrated with the SuccessFactors BizX Suite, but now you can take advantage of Jam with your SAP applications, such as Sales OnDemand. Apply social and collaborative capabilities right where you’re working, whether that’s in your learning management or sales opportunity management systems.

Recruiting:

Team recruiting, simplified application process for vets and LinkedIn users Enhanced configurability in this release allows more than one person to be assigned to each job requisition role, so more users can view and perform actions on requisitions.

Jam: Accelerating Employee Performance

You get a new pool of skilled candidates, and the country’s veterans get a better chance at finding a job to match their skills. With the SuccessFactors military jobs decoder, military and veteran candidates simply enter their Military Occupational Classification (MOC) into the Military Jobs Transcoder on your career site, and that code is translated into a civilian job title keyword search. Relevant jobs are then displayed in a search results grid and linked directly to the appropriate hosted job page. Filling in work history is a time-consuming step in the application process. With the enhancements to the Apply with LinkedIn feature, candidates can pull their work experience and education information directly into the candidate profile from LinkedIn, reducing the time it takes to complete the candidate and application process.

Succession: Nominate external candidates to succession plans Building strong succession plans for the key positions in your company is critical. Those who use SuccessFactors Succession & Development often want to identify external talent—such as alumni or specific industry experts—to high-level succession plans. You spoke, we listened. New with this release, you can use SuccessFactors Succession & Development with SuccessFactors Recruiting to nominate external candidates to succession plans. With this integration, you can find and create records in the recruiting candidate database and nominate external successors directly from the Succession application.
