Summer 2017 Walking Buddies Program Keep cool as we explore a variety of Durham waterfront walking trails, while getting the brainboosting effects of walking in greenery. All trails relatively easy and accessible, with handy parking We walk in light rain. Come prepared to walk outdoors. Dress in layers, wear suitable footwear, sun protection, and bring a water bottle. Friends and family welcome. Seeking volunteers!

Dates and Locations – 10:00am start: Wednesday Walks July 5th –Thickson Woods, Whitby. Park in parking circle at base of Thickson Road. Explore one of Ontario’s greatest bird sanctuaries! July 12th – Thickson Woods, Whitby. Park as above. This time we walk west towards along the Ontario Waterfront Trail. July 19th – Kiwanis Heydenshore Pavillion, Whitby. 589 Water St. Meeting spot in parking lot closest to picnic shelter. We will walk west. July 26th – Kiwanis Heydenshore Pavillion, Whitby. 589 Water St. Meeting spot in parking lot closest to picnic shelter. We will walk east. Aug 2nd – Lakeview Park, Oshawa. 55 Lakeview Park Ave. Park in parking lot in front of the Jubilee Pavilion. Aug 9th - Oshawa Waterfront Trail, Cliff Pilkey portion. Park at Unifor Local 222 parking lot (old CAW office), 1425 Phillip Murray Ave, Oshawa. Aug 16th – Ajax Waterfront Trail, Rotary Park. 177 Lake Driveway West, Ajax. We will walk east. Aug 23rd – Ajax Waterfront Trail, Rotary Park. 177 Lake Driveway West, Ajax. We will walk west. Aug 30th – Windreach Farm, 312 Town Line Rd, Ashburn. Come join us at this fully accessible working farm, as we wander and try a fun activity with wool (optional). Thursday Walk The following walk is held on THURSDAY, Sept 7th: Nova’s Ark, 7505 Cedarbrook Trail, Brooklin, We will walk around this unique animal refuge and take in the sights and sounds of a wide variety of animals! Please drive in and park in driveway.
