Oostburg Musi c Department – Summer Musi c Camp Schol arshi p Appl i cat i on The Parents’ Music Club is again generously donating money to be divided among high school and middle school music students interested in attending a summer music camp. Students who apply for a scholarship must be in a performing group at school during the school year before the camp and the entire school year following the camp; and must have volunteered at least once with the Parents’ Music Club during the past school year (either the student or a parent). A committee of Mrs. Hanes, Mrs. Williams, Mr. Galezio, Mrs. Howell and the Parents’ Music Club Officers will evaluate the applications and then select the recipients and the amount to be awarded. Applications must be received no later than May 2nd in order to be considered. Recipients will be notified by May 14th of the scholarship amount they will receive. Selection for all scholarships will be based on the completeness, thoughtfulness, and neatness of the scholarship application. New this year is a scholarship exclusively for a current middle school student. In past years, very few middle school applications for scholarships have been turned in. It is with this specialized opportunity that middle schoolers are strongly encouraged to apply for a scholarship. We understand that if the student does not attend camp, does not complete the camp session, or is asked to leave the camp, the scholarship money will not be granted. Upon completion of the camp, student is to complete the “Proof of Attendance” form within 2 weeks of completing the camp to receive a check for the approved scholarship amount from the Parents’ Music Club.
