Job Title: Videographer - Summer Student - Behind The Business Series Description: The Danforth Mosaic Business Improvement Area (BIA) is seeking to hire a Summer Student for the position of Videographer. In this position the successful candidate will be responsible for developing a series of featurette videos for use on the BIA’s social media pages that will promote the area’s businesses. The Ideal Candidate will be a motivated university or college student who is seeking to gain experience in a relevant field of study or interest such as Film & Television, Digital Arts, Marketing & Communications, Journalism, Public Relations etc. who has experience with video production and can provide satisfactory examples of video work that they have produced through their portfolio.
The following skills and abilities would be an asset to the candidate in this position: • Effective interpersonal communication skills • Self-motivated and organised • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in video production • Knowledge of in best practices in developing video content for social media, and measuring their success. This position is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs Program, and therefore, to be eligible to apply the candidate must: • be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; • be registered as a full-time student during the present academic year; • intend to return to school as a full-time student during the preceding academic year; • is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
• is a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and; • be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
