GREAT BRISTOL 10K - SUNDAY 7 MAY There will be a rolling programme of road closures starting from Anchor Road at 04:00 on Sunday 7th May 2017 in order to ensure a safe running route for the 12,500 runners taking part. Please see the map overleaf
for details of the route, road closures and diversions. All roads should be reopened by 16:00. Roads will be reopened in phases once each section is clear of runners, litter and event infrastructure. During the road closure vehicular access will not be possible, unless otherwise stated or pre-agreed. We appreciate that road closures can cause some inconvenience but your cooperation would be appreciated in assisting the City of Bristol to host this prestigious sporting event. The following road closures and parking restrictions will directly affect your area: Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 Zone 4 Zone 5 Zone 6
– Jacobs Wells Roundabout to St Augstines Parade – Redcliff Hill to Baldwin Street – Avon Crescent to Commercial Rd – Hotwells (outbound) to Brunel Lock Road – Hotwell Rd to Sylvan Way inc. The Portway – Colston Ave (part) to College Green
Information for All Zones • Clifton Suspension Bridge will remain open AT ALL TIMES.
• Rolling road closures will be in place for the event as per the colour coded map and zones overleaf. • The 10k will start from 09:30, and be followed by 3 separate race starts.
• The Family run will start at 12:30, and take in the roads around Cannons Way/ Hotwells Road • All roads will be reopen by 16:00 if not before. The re-opening times listed are a guide and are subject to change due to operational requirements.
• Cars parked on closed roads may be uplifted if parked in suspended
spaces, no movement of cars is permitted during road closure.
• If you require your vehicle during closure times we recommend you
park outside of the road closures. • Please note that Bristol City FC will be playing Birmingham City on Sunday 7th May with a 12 Noon kick off. If you are attending the match please be aware of road closures and plan your journey. Ashton Gate Stadium will be open from 10am. Zone 1
• Anchor Road will be closed between 04:00 and 16:00
• Lime Kiln Rd/ Cannons Way residents will be able to enter and/or exit via Partition St/ Lower College St and across Anchor Road until 08:00.
• Lime Kiln Rd Residents will be able to exit after 11:30 via Jacobs Wells, stewards will assist once it is safe to move vehicles.
• Cannons Way Residents will be able to exit again after 13:30, stewards will assist once it is safe to move vehicles.
• A temporary taxi rank/ turning circle will be installed at Lower College St for the Grosvenor Casino until 08:00. • A 1 mile Family Run will take place following the 10k which will see up to 1,000 runners take on a course around Cannons Way and Millennium Square. This starts at 12:00 and will last 60 minutes.
Zone 2 • Redcliffe Hill (Inbound to city traffic), Redcliffe Way, The Grove, Prince St, Broad Quay, Marsh Street, Baldwin Street will be closed between 05:00 and 12:30
• Residents will be able to exit until 08:00.
• No vehicle movement is prohibited after 08:00 unless prior
arrangements have been made with the event organisers.
• Lower Guinea St/ Guinea St/ Redcliffe Parade East will be affected by road closures due to the current closure of Prince St Bridge.
• Access to Queen Square/ Welsh Back is via Baldwin St and an exit is available via Redcliffe Way towards Temple Meads at ALL TIMES.
• If you require your car between 08:00 and 12:30 we recommend you park outside of the road closures.

Zone 3
• Cumberland Road, Wapping Road, Gas Ferry Rd, Hanover Place, Mardyke Ferry Rd, Avon Crescent, Smeaton Rd, Ashton Ave, Brunel Lock Road will be closed between 05:30 and 12:00
• Residents will be able to exit until 08:00.
• No vehicle movement is prohibited after 08:00 unless prior arrangements have been made with the event organisers.
• If you require your car between 08:00 and 12:00 we recommend you park outside of the road closure.
Zone 4
• Hotwell Road Outbound from Jacob Wells Roundabout to Humphry Davy Way will be closed.
• Access to Dock Gate Lane, Pembroke Place, Rownham Mead, Charles Place, Oakfield Rd, Christina Terrace, Merchants Road will be closed between 0600 and 1130.
• Vehicles will be permitted to exit streets towards the city on Hotwell Road until 08:00.
• Hotwell Rd will remain open at all times for traffic flowing inbound only towards Jacob Wells Roundabout.
• Parking Bays on Hotwell Rd (both inbound and outbound sides of the road) will be suspended with No Parking permitted. Please note that vehicles parked within the suspended bays will be uplifted by Bristol City Council Parking Services contractors.
• Warning signage and No Parking cones will identify these areas.
Zone 5
• Hotwell Road at Bennett Way to A4162 Sylvan Way inc A4 Portway and Bridge Valley Road will be closed between 0600 and 1300. • Access for residents is available between Sylvan Way and Roman Way. • NB Portway Sunday Park will NOT be taking place on Sunday 7th May. Zone 6
• Colston Ave, St Augustines Parade, Park Street, College Green (access only as far as Anchor Rd and the Marriott Hotel) will be closed between 0730 and 1300. • Access in to the Centre is restricted during closure time
• No access from The Centre on to Baldwin Street. • Through traffic from the West/ Clifton to use Park Row not Park Street.
