When you reach for the stars… Devin Campbell’s journey to college ball.

Devin feels that the basketball program at Sunrise Recreation & Park District initially gave him the opportunity to learn the basics of the game and supplied a great foundation to grow from. He enjoyed it and looked forward to it every year until he aged out of the program. He considers some of his former teammates in the SRPD youth basketball program to be lifelong friends.

2000 discovered playing “street” ball by Wayne and Sandy Dorn (they used to drive by his house and see him playing his little hoop everyday). 2001 was in 2nd grade and started playing on a 3rd grade team; coached by Wayne and Sandy Dorn. 2002 through 2005 played for SRPD and Evans (his father) started assisting with coaching. Evans would later coach at Antelope High School in 2012 as the Freshman Basketball Coach with Wayne Dorn as the Asst. Coach. 2005 through 2007 played for other local youth programs 2007-2008 played Freshmen team at Oakmont High School 2008-2011 played 1 year JV (coached by Tony Watkins) and 2 years Varsity (coached by Rob Richards) at Antelope High School
