By bus

Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) is conveniently located in the heart of the region. Jetstar and Virgin Australia offer multiple daily direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne, with Qantas offering direct flights from Sydney, seasonal services from Auckland with Air New Zealand - and connecting destinations all over the globe. Alternatively, fly into Brisbane International or Domestic Airport (BNE), just one hour south of the Sunshine Coast.

Transfers by private shuttle services and bus services operate from both the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast Airports. Con-X-ion Airport Transfers operate hourly door to door shuttle services from Brisbane Airport and meets every flight into Sunshine Coast Airport, seven days a week. Intrastate and interstate bus services such as Greyhound Australia and Premier Motor Service also service the region.

Train

Seasonal Auckland-Sunshine Coast (AKL-MCY) direct flights with Air New Zealand run from 13 December 2015 - 28 February 2016 (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) and June to October 2016.

A railway line connects the region to Brisbane in the south and Gympie and beyond to the north.

Car hire All major car rental car companies are represented at Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Airports and major centres.

Taxi Suncoast Cabs have a large fleet of taxis servicing the region 24 hours per day.

Surf safety Sunshine Coast beaches are beautiful, however, it’s important to be alert to dangers of the surf and beach environment. Always advise clients to swim between the red and yellow flags at one of the many patrolled beaches.

Public hospitals are located at Caloundra and Nambour. Private hospitals are located at Caloundra, Kawana, Buderim, Noosa and Nambour, while 24 hour medical centres are located throughout the region. Many hotels and resorts have doctors on call. In Australia dial 000 for emergency services.

The Sunshine Coast enjoys plenty of sunshine with an average of seven hours each day. The region has a subtropical climate and is ideal for outdoor activities year round. The temperate climate ensures that swimming is also available year round without the need for stinger suits, which are often required in the tropics.

Visas

An indication of the seasonal variations in temperature:

All travellers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are required to obtain a visa. The ‘Tourist Visa’ allows people travelling for tourism purposes or to visit friends and family to stay in Australia for a period of up to three, six or twelve months. For short term holiday visits, an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) visa allows visitors to stay up to three months on each visit. Australia’s ETA is the world’s most advanced travel authorisation system.

The Sunshine Coast is a well-known golfing destination, delivering a high standard resort course golfing experience. Home to the former Australian PGA Championship course, a Greg Norman designed course and three other championship courses, it’s time your clients made a hole in their diaries! Day 1

Travel from your city of origin to Brisbane Airport or Sunshine Coast Airports. If time permits, visit Australia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, on your way to your accommodation. Check into your accommodation at Pelican Waters Golf Resort and Spa.

Day 2

Play 18 holes at the Greg Norman designed Pelican Waters Golf Club. Stay overnight at Pelican Waters Golf Resort and Spa.

Day 3
