WHY BECOME SRC (OR MPP)

Team Building

•Learn how to establish goals, delegate responsibility and give directions to peers on executing tasks successfully •Learn the skill of interactive and effective communication and become good listeners •Learn to be flexible and obtain the skills to mentor groups of students to perform to their optimum capacity •Act as a conduit between students and UBD administrators •Building relationships with administrators, leaders from other universities and other high-profile figures can yield valuable personal and professional contact

•Learn to properly plan activities and events throughout term of appointment, with the appropriate resources – which includes early planning, budgeting, organization, marketing and successful implementation. •Learn innumerable skills including those of resource allocation and resource utilization •Learn to utilize resources available to the best possible manner to achieve maximum results

Prioritizing Tasks

•Teach you to take on multiple responsibilities •Learn to prioritize tasks according to their importance and need for immediate attention, through clear vision and knowledge of goals, and effective prioritization of time, man power and resources required for each task

•Learn to speak out in public and communicate with large groups of audience •Responsible for leading task forces and managing groups of people, therefore will learn to be assertive in order to push people forward and help them work •Learn to take certain risks as well as make important decisions •Learn to take on tough challenges with determination

Making a Difference

•Making a difference through actions and decisions made can inspire you to be more proactive and may alter attitude towards work and life •Bring change and work passionately to make a difference in the world and in the life of others

•Learn to efficiently express your ideas with a large audience, which is a great tool when planning events or promoting campus initiatives •Serve as liaison in bringing any issues/ suggestions/ feedback to UBD administration at meetings •Suggest, develop and implement solutions related to creating a more vibrant campus life

WHO NOMINEE: • • •

Is a registered student under UBD Bachelor or Diploma programme only Is a member of PMUBD Is currently in Year 1 Semester 1, Year 1 Semester 2 or Year 2 Semester 1 (August 2016, January 2017 and August 2017 intakes) Students in Year 3 Semester 2 or Year 4 Semester 1 may apply also but must declare absolute willingness to bear the responsibilities Has no disciplinary records Is not under probation or has never repeated his/her programme Is not holding green IC

Is a registered student of UBD (will not be graduating this year) Is a member of PMUBD

Self-Nomination 1. Fill in the form (ensure that you meet the criteria) 2. Get another student to support your nomination Peer-nomination o Proposer fills in the form (ensure the nominated student meets the criteria) o Get another student to support your nomination o The nomination will only be considered valid if the nominated student agree and sign the form. Faculty nomination o Programme Leader/ Assistant Registrar to nominate a candidate (ensure that he/she meets the criteria) as Proposer o Inform the nominated student. He/she must agree to the nomination and sign the form, to be considered as a valid nomination o Submit nomination to Faculty Dean for support
