July 2-8

Team Member Application Due February 22, 2017

TRIP DETAILS

Why should I go on this trip? You should participate because you have a desire to grow in your relationship with God and because you want to serve Him and share your faith with other people. Please prayerfully consider whether you should go. This is a serious, growth-level trip. By applying for this trip, you are indicating that you desire to take God and His Word seriously.

When and where are we going? We will be doing a one week trip from July 2-8 right here in Vancouver! Be at Glenwood by 7:00pm on July 2. Our trip will conclude at 11:00am July 8. We will be camping out at church for the week.

What will we be doing? We have three main goals for the trip: • Grow in ability and vision to share Christ relationally • Connect and bond around a common task and vision • Serve people in Vancouver in a way that encourages lasting change We’ll primarily seek to accomplish these goals through serving lunches, running a sports camp, hosting outreach events for middle school students, and spending lots of time together studying God’s Word and growing in our friendships.

When are the applications due? The due date to turn in an application is February 22, 2017. Applications can be

dropped off at the office at church or given directly to Nathan. Space is limited on the trip. Preference will be given to those who turn in their application by the deadline and are able to attend all pre-trip meetings.

How much will the trip cost? The cost of the trip is covered in two ways: (1) student contribution and (2) Short Term Mission (STM) fund contribution. The student contribution this year is $50, which is due no later than June 5, 2016. The remaining cost of the trip is covered by Glenwood Community Church’s STM fund.

One of the requirements for going on this trip is that you help with the STM sale. The proceeds from the sale will go toward the overall expenses of all the STM teams at Glenwood, including our trip. Each student is required to work at least 10 hours for the sale. We also allow students to reduce their cost by working at least 20 hours for the sale. This will reduce the student contribution to $0. During our first pre-trip meeting, students will be able to sign up for times to work for the sale.

When will we have pre-trip meetings? Our pre-trip meetings will be in the High School Room at 7:45am on the following Sundays: February 26, March 26, April 30, and June 11. We will also have a training meeting on June 17 from 1:00-3:30pm.

How can I find out more? Call or email Nathan Nymeyer at 360-5713300 or [email protected].
