AMENDMENT: 2013 USASNC MATCH PROGRAM USA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND US TEAM RANKING FOR SELECTIONS-RIFLE AND PISTOL EVENTS In 2013, the ISSF published new rules that significantly changed the finals in all events. All finals qualifiers will start with a score of 0 with ranking determined solely on the results of the final. USAS has evaluated this change and decided to use a modified system that ranks the athletes based upon qualification score and their finish in the finals. A. RANKING OF ATHLETES: 1. Two Day Qualification whole number score (3P, RFP, AP, FP events) OR decimal Score (PR, AR events) plus Points for finish in the finals. Finals will be conducted in all events each day. Ranking Example: John shoots a 584 Air Pistol day 1, 586 Air Pistol day 2. He qualifies for the final both days. John finishes 3rd in the final #1, 1st in final #2. Ranking Score: 584+586+6+8 finals points= 1182.

Reason for Weighted Ranking: For the National Championships and US Team selections, the goal is to award or select athletes with the best demonstrated skill level in both the qualifications and the finals. B. TIES: 1. PR, 3P, AR, AP, FP: Ties for places 1-8 or will be broken by the aggregate of inner tens in the qualification courses. If there is still a tie, there will be a shoot off as soon as possible after the tie is determined. Athletes would be called back to the line for a 5 minute sighting period followed by a 5 shot shoot off scored in decimals. If a tie still exists after 5 shots, shots will be fired in a sudden death format until the winner is determined.

2. RFP, SP: Ties for the finals and for the aggregate will be decided based upon a Shoot off. Shoot off for RFP will be one 5 shot series in 4 seconds. This will repeat until tie is broken. Shoot off for SP will be one 5 shot series in rapid fire. This will repeat until tie is broken. Shoot offs and tie breaking will be shot in the Hit and Miss mode.
