Technology and Proposition Learn Funds generated by the passage of Proposition Learn would allow the District to increase student access to technology. FHSD would be able to purchase new devices (Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, etc.), which would reduce the average age of devices in our schools and increase the ratio of devices per student. Proposition Learn would also fund wireless network upgrades across the District, and allow FHSD to purchase new multimedia devices for classrooms. SMART Boards are a very important teaching tool, but many across the District are at least 12 years old. Having reached the useful end of life, these devices are no longer supported. During the FHSD strategic planning process last fall, feedback from our community emphasized the importance of technology in preparing students for the future. As a result of the input from our stakeholders, one of the strategies in the new five-year strategic plan is to address access to and the effective use of technology to enhance both teaching and learning.
