End Date:  Upon the return of the incumbent 

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 

Start Time: 8:00am  Finish Time: 4:00pm  * requires some flexibility and occasional availability for evenings as per operational and volunteer training  requirements  Hourly Wage Rate: $20.44  Status: Exempt  Benefits: Eligible for 100% employer paid perks! We offer comprehensive extended health and dental plans and cover  employee MSP premiums. Employees also enjoy:  •  3 weeks paid vacation, prorated annually  •  generous leave benefits   frequent training opportunities  Job Summary  Under the supervision of Manager of Shelter Services, the Volunteer Coordinator will develop a site specific volunteer  program promoting opportunities for both clients and community member to participate in meaningful ways within  the Rock Bay Landing shelter program. This will include gateway ancillary (supplementary) services such as clean & safe  teams, client honorariums, and life skills to improve the overall well‐being and socialization of clients.    Qualifications  Two years of experience in the area of recruiting and supervising volunteers.     Required to complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check prior to  commencement of employment.  Skills & Abilities:   Previous experience in volunteer planning, development, and evaluation   Ability to manage, train, supervise, and motivate staff, volunteers, and clientele   Ability and flexibility to work in a team environment under time pressure, and on some weekends or evenings   Skill in working with a diversity of people; ability to facilitate cooperative work   Sound knowledge and understanding of homelessness and marginalization   Ability to organize and maintain detailed records and prepare clear and concise reports   Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet tight deadlines (strong time management skills)   Ability to use computers and program related software proficiently   Demonstrated ability to perform public presentations; good verbal and written communication skills
