Tennessee Farmers Market Boot Camp Educational Program

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Teaching sessions: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (lunch will be provided)

Educational training opportunities for farmers market vendors. A collaboration of the Center for Profitable Agriculture, UT Extension and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.

There is no cost to attend the “boot camp” workshops but preregistration is required at least 5 days prior to the workshop. Please preregister by contacting Nancy Austin in the UT Department of Food Science and Technology at [email protected] or 865-974-7717 and provide your: (1) name, (2) phone number and (3) email address. Due to space limitations, registration is limited to 40 participants in some locations. This workshop qualifies as a credit toward the educational requirements to receive 50% TAEP cost share for ONLY: Fruits & Vegetables and Value-Added diversification sectors. Presenters: Faith Critzer, Eric Goan, Hal Pepper and Amy Tavalin will team up to teach the 2014 boot camp sessions.

From I-40, exit Germantown Road (exit 16A). Go south on Germantown Road approximately 5 miles. You will go under the overpass at Walnut Grove Road; turn right at the stop light at Timbercreek. (The Butcher Shop Restaurant will be on your right). This is the entrance to Agricenter International. Pass the Butcher Shop Restaurant and the ShowPlace Arena on your right. Continue forward through the 4-way stop. The Red Barn/Farmer’s Market will be on your left. When the road V’s, stay to the left. This will take you around to the back of the building. Park in front of the entrance with the “C” on it. The workshop will be in the Banquet room of the main Expo Center building. Enter through the C-wing entrance. FEBRUARY 25—Dyersburg The Lannom Center 2000 Commerce Avenue, Dyersburg, TN 38024 From Jackson, take US-412/TN-20 W toward Dyersburg. Take the TN-210 ramp toward Fowlkes/Tigrett. Turn left onto TN-210/Old Highway 20. Turn right onto US-51 N/TN-3 N. Stay straight to go onto US-51-BYP N. Turn left onto Flowering Dogwood Lane. Turn right onto Cook Street. Turn left onto Commerce Avenue. Commerce Avenue will lead into the Lannom Center parking lot with the Center being on the left. 731-285-3433.

Take exit 4 to merge onto TN-153 N toward Chickamauga Dam/Airport, go 4 miles. Take exit 3 and turn right onto Jersey Pike, go 1 mile. Turn right at Bonny Oaks traffic light, go to first traffic light. Turn right onto Adamson Circle. The J. Merle Crawley Building will be the three story gray building on the right. March 6—Harriman Roane State Community College 276 Patton Lane, Harriman, TN 37748 Take I-40 to exit 347 (Harriman/Rockwood). Turn left at exit’s traffic light onto Highway 27 and go about 2 miles. Turn left at the next traffic light (Patton Lane). Travel about 1 mile. The campus will be on your right and it has two entrances, Entrance A and the main Entrance. The workshop will be in room number 101 of the O’Brien building, which is the building closest to Patton Lane. 865-882-4590.

Tennsco Community Center 115 Tennsco Drive, Dickson, TN 37055 From I-40 take Exit 172 to north Hwy 46. In approximately 2.7 miles, turn right onto Jackson Brothers Way and continue onto Tennsco Road (approximately 1.3 miles).
