To:  Rubio  for  President  Team   From:  Terry  Sullivan,  campaign  manager   Re:  Stay  Positive     We  are  coming  off  a  great  announcement  week.  And  we  couldn’t  have  done  it  without  each   of  you,  so  thank  you.         A  week  ago,  Marco  spoke  directly  to  millions  of  Americans,  sharing  his  positive  vision  for  a   new  American  century.  He  then  sat  for  over  a  dozen  major  national  television  and  radio   interviews,  and  made  his  first  early  state  visit  as  a  presidential  candidate.  The  hard  work  is   yielding  some  great  early  returns:  A  new  CNN  poll  this  morning  shows  Marco’s  support   doubling  since  Monday  night,  and  Republicans  now  believe  that  no  other  candidate  better   represents  the  future.  Polls  this  early  don’t  matter  much,  and  the  numbers  will  continue  to   bounce  around.      What  this  poll  does  illustrate  though,  is  that  when  Marco  articulates  his   positive  vision  for  the  future  of  America,  it  really  resonates  with  voters.     Our  early  success  is  not  going  unnoticed  by  other  campaigns.  This  weekend,  the  Drudge   Report  highlighted  an  AP  report  that  another  campaign  has  “Started  quietly  spreading   negative  information  about  Rubio’s  record.”  We  cannot  take  the  bait  and  return  fire.  We   must  stay  positive.       Just  like  in  Marco’s  2010  campaign,  this  last  week  proved  again  that  Marco  does  best  when   people  hear  his  positive  message  directly  from  him.  That  is  why  going  forward,  we  must   continue  to  be  disciplined  and  remain  focused  on  building  a  campaign  that  can  effectively   deliver  his  message.  We  must  run  our  own  campaign  and  not  respond  to  other’s.  If  we  stay   positive,  and  focus  on  Marco’s  optimistic  vision  for  the  future  of  America,  we  will  win   the  nomination  and  take  back  the  White  House  in  2016.     Last  week,  millions  of  Americans  saw  for  the  first  time  a  new  generation,  aspirational   conservative,  who  can  unite  the  party  and  inspire  the  country.  Our  mission  is  to  continue  to   build  on  that  early  success.  Campaigns  are  won  at  the  end  —  not  the  beginning  -‐-‐  and  we   have  a  lot  of  work  to  do.     Stay  positive,     Terry       PS:  We’ve  had  amazing  success  online  so  far.  If  you  haven’t  done  so  already,  please   encourage  all  your  friends  and  family  to  join  our  team  at  MarcoRubio.com
