Akha ethnic language is a bit easier to learn than Thai because it uses the English alphabet. We can read the Akha Bible, Gospel tracts and sing the Akha hymns. We are learning the basic conversation like greetings and expressions of praising and thanking God. But God has to get His message through the hearts of His people. Even though I preach in English, our Akha pastor Ajaarn Kraisorn Choemue can directly translate it into their tribal language. Even if I preach a few sentences in the Thai language, the older people cannot understand, only the children, youth and some young adults are able to understand. God gave us a team of Akha pastors and I have to guide and lead them deeper into the Word of God. This is applying 2 Timothy 2:2 in the lives of these potential ethnic men who are willing to be used for God’s glory.
Last April, a Thai businessman Supawat Jiracupt called me for a meeting in his place. He was endorsed to me by a fellow Filipino missionary friend in Bangkok. Mr. Tee (his nickname) asked me if I could help him start a Christian learning center using the Accelerated Christian Education-School of Tomorrow (ACE-SOT) curriculum – he had this training in Bangkok. We prayed about this for some time and God gave us peace of mind and heart. After confirming with him, he also offered his place if I wanted to start a new church ministry to conduct worship services every Sunday…it was a great open door and opportunity, YES! He then started renovating his place, a four-level old condo office. It took more than two months of slow remodeling, putting in air-cons, flooring, walls and painting. As of this writing, I am waiting for God to provide funds to buy the needed 10 small folding tables and 30 metal chairs, please PRAY! We have scheduled to start the first services on July 30 and the Learning Center on August 14, 2017. Above all, please PRAY for the salvation of Mr. Tee from being a Buddhist to being a professing Christian as I do a personal Bible study with him. Another challenging ministry is ahead of us. We must be more prepared spiritually, health-wise with much knowledge and wisdom from God and we are asking for your prayer-support as well. Thank you!
