SPORTS DAYS Congratulations to Alnwick who won the House Sports Day competition. Unfortunately the rain came down on Monday so the Early Years Sports Day had to be postponed. It has been rescheduled for Monday 6th July (morning Nursery with Reception JH at 10 a.m. and afternoon Nursery with Reception CB at 1:45 p.m.). Fingers crossed for a dry day!

2015 NEW STARTERS It was wonderful to welcome so many families into the Greenfields family at the New Starters Meetings for Nursery and Reception yesterday. Many thanks must go to the Early Years staff for organising the information meetings and to our school cook Mrs Houlden for providing refreshments. If your child has a food allergy, please remember to let Mrs Houlden know. The school brochure is available for everyone to see on the school web-site.

A MESSAGE FROM F.O.G. F.o.G would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who supported our annual Summer Fayre last Friday. Thanks to your donations and generosity, FOG raised £1260. The school is incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful ‘Friends of Greenfields’ group, who work so hard throughout the year for the benefit of the children. There are still a few unclaimed raffle prizes, so please check your tickets: Pink 802 Pink 709 Pink 687 Pink 803 Pink 781 Yellow 633 White 598 Pink 701

SCHOOL UNIFORM REMINDER We have new stocks of uniform ready for September. If you need to buy any items, please call in at the school office on Monday or Wednesday mornings, when Mrs Harris will be available to help. If possible, please come before 3rd July, so that we are able to order any items that we do not have in stock in time for the start of next term.

JEWELLERY REMINDER As you are aware, children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school. If you are thinking about having your child’s ears pierced, we would ask that this happens at the start of the Summer holidays, so that by the time term starts in September, they are able to remove their earrings. We understand that certain items of jewellery have religious significance. If parents/carers contact school requesting that their child be permitted to wear specific jewellery for religious reasons, then this would normally be agreed. However, for Health & Safety reasons, we may still have to ask children to remove these items during PE and games.

NO DOGS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS One of the comments made on our last parents’ questionnaire was ‘Enforce the ‘No dogs on school grounds‘ rule, as many children are afraid of them’. There have also been several complaints recently about dogs tied to school fences that children have to walk past to get to the playground. Please help us to keep the children feeling as safe as possible by remembering our ‘No Dogs’ policy.

GREGGS CHILDREN’S CANCER RUN 2015 NECCR have asked us to remind those people who have collected sponsor money that they would like all money to be sent in by Friday 3rd July. The link to pay sponsor money online is: http://www.childrenscancerrun.co.uk/teams/greenfields-primary . . . or you can bring money into school by next Friday and as usual and we will forward it to NECCR for you.

FINALLY . . .
