THE 33rd ANNUAL CONFERENCE WELCOME TO CGI 2016!
Computer Graphics International is one of the oldest international annual conferences in Computer Graphics and one of the five most important ones worldwide. It is an essential yearly meeting where academics present their latest models and technologies, and explore new trends and ideas. In previous years, it had been held in numerous different places worldwide -‐‑ Geneva, Tokyo, Sydney, and many countries in Europe, Asia, and America. CGI’16: Computer Graphics International 2016, the 33rd annual conference will take place on June 28th – July 1st 2016 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. Crete is the 5th biggest Mediterranean Island, lies in the southern frontier of Europe and is one of the most popular European tourism destinations. The conference will be organized by the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (ICS-‐‑CVRL/FORTH). Important collocated events will be held during CGI’16.
TOPICS We invite original contributions that advance the state-‐‑of-‐‑the-‐‑art in topics related, but not limited to: • Graphics Systems Architectures • Geometric Algebra Computing • Human Computer Interaction • Geometric/Clifford Algebras for Graphics • Rendering Techniques • Computational Photography • Virtual and Augmented Reality • Visual Analytics • Shape and Surface Modeling • Shape and Image Retrieval • Physically Based Modeling and Simulation • Sketch Based Modeling • Scientific Visualization • 3D Printing • Data Compression for Graphics • Surface and Volume Deformation • Medical Imaging • Shape Analysis • Computational and Discreet Geometry • Parallel Systems and GPU • Multimedia and Web Graphics • Augmented cognition and Mixed Reality • Mobile Graphics Toolkits • Realistic and Perceptual Rendering • Virtual Heritage applications • HDR Image and Video Techniques The scientific program of the conference will also include short papers and posters. The selected 35 best full-‐‑length papers will be published in the Visual Computer Journal, by Springer and will be presented orally at the conference. Authors of the highest ranked short papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work to Visual Computer; these papers will follow a fast track review process. The rest of the short papers will be published in an online digital library by a major association.
