2017 Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Recognizes an Acadia alumnus who has graduated within the past ten years whose endeavours in professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition, bring honour to Acadia University.
Nomination Forms should be returned in a sealed envelope to the following location: Alumni Hall (ATTENTION: OONAGH PROUDFOOT) 512 Main Street, Acadia University, Wolfville N.S., B4P 2R6 Applications may include letters of reference and any other supporting materials (such as newspaper articles, other awards received, etc.)
Nomination Deadline: Noon on June 24, 2016 The award will be presented at the AAAU Annual Alumni Gala Dinner in Halifax, NS in 2017.
Criteria for consideration: Breadth of Involvement: The range, diversity and magnitude of the candidate’s involvement in, contributions towards, and efforts in support of professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition. Depth of Involvement: The value and impact of the candidate’s involvement in, contributions towards, and efforts in support of professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition. Duration of Involvement: Consideration will be given to the period of time or years of sustained contributions towards professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition.

In lieu of a CV, a formal outline of achievements, awards, education and career accomplishments will be accepted. The time and place of presentation will be determined based on several variables: program schedule of the Alumni Office; geographical location of recipient. Current faculty and/or staff of Acadia University, current members of the Associated Alumni of Acadia University Board of Directors, and current members of the Acadia University Board of Governors are not eligible to receive this award.
