Dear CB 3 Public Member / Applicant for Public Member: Public Members of Community Board 3 committees are valued members of our board. They provide expertise in specific areas and allow the board to have working participation from a broader representation within the Community Board 3 district. The Board Chair appoints public members for one-year terms. Public members are full voting members of their committees and are counted in the quorum necessary to vote. Therefore, public members must commit to full participation in their assigned committees. Public members do not participate in the full board meetings as board members. Like board members, public members must live or work within the community board district or have a significant interest within the community board district. Public members must abide by CB by-laws (available on CB 3 website). The Board Chair may remove a public member at any time for substantial non-attendance or other cause. If you are interested in becoming a public member, or if you wish to reapply for another one-year term, please fill out the accompanying questionnaire and return it to the board office.
