The Donovan Catholic Ice hockey team has joined with St. Rose High School in Belmar to form a cooperative hockey program
The Donovan Catholic Ice hockey team has joined with St. Rose High School in Belmar to form a cooperative hockey program. This decision resulted from two factors: the insufficient number of players to field a full Donovan hockey team, as well as the safety of students wishing to continue playing hockey this year. Therefore, Athletic Director Mr. Joe Gomulka with the support of the Donovan Catholic Administration discussed with St. Rose the possibility of this cooperative endeavor. After receiving affirmation from St. Rose to move forward with this joint effort, the Shore Conference and NJSIAA were contacted for their approval. This cooperative venture is now set for a one-year period as Donovan Catholic continues to develop its hockey program. In collaboration with Saint Rose and in the spirit of our faith–filled Catholic communities, these two teams look forward to working together for a successful and productive hockey season.
