Speaker 1) Emmett Clary, DTM Title: The Marvelous Navigator Evaluated by: Jeanette Sweeney
Speaker 3) Daryle Hamel CC, CL Title: Going Off the Rails Evaluated by: Jamie Luu
Emmett transformed our thinking regarding Christopher Columbus’ journey to the Americas. With passion and verve, Emmett launched us with Columbus on his many adventures, shedding new insight on the role Columbus played in our history. Speaker 2) Lillian Koziol -‐-‐ DTM Title: Toastmasters International Evaluated by: Amanda Tanner
NEVER MEMORIZE YOUR SPEECH! Daryle provided the club with b est practices when delivering a speech, including the all-‐important reminder, “It’s never about the speaker—it’s all about the audience.” I bet we will see a lot more bullet points in n ear future! Speaker 4) Patrick Plaskett, CC Title: Words and Intentions Evaluated by: Brent Wahl
“We are on the starship Enterprise” began Lillian, comparing the global community of toastmasters to the varied and diverse crew of Star Trek. Lillian passionately reminded u s, that as Toastmasters, we are part of something so much larger than ourselves.
Words have power, but intentions have MORE power. In a multi-‐media presentation, Patrick walked us through his past; illustrating the strength intention gives words. He brought his message home by serenading us with original song on his guitar.
