Purpose of job As a key part of the Membership team, you will deliver punchy, persuasive email copy and campaigns to achieve key objectives: engaging with members & supporters, driving fundraising targets, growing our party and running end-toend advocacy campaigns that deliver political change. You will take the lead on developing the voice and tone of key broadcasters in first-class email content and you'll be comfortable owning responsibility for signing off all party emails.

You will also work closely with our Digital Communications & Campaigns teams, collaborating to developing consistent, high-quality digital content and messaging for all our online platforms. As a specialist in email and copy you'll also advise key stakeholders, and help design a pipeline of email campaign journeys. Key Responsibilities 1. Define an effective email strategy to engage millions of people and develop a pipeline of membership t and fundraising prospects 2. Design ‘start-to-finish’ issues-based email campaigns for effective conversion of supporters into members, donors and voters 3. Deliver persuasive copy with a unique voice from a range of broadcasters to drive meaningful actions and reach substantial donation targets 4. Support the team’s member satisfaction and retention goals by creating and executing the email component of an effective member journey 5. Develop continuous test and learn email experimentation, constantly tracking performance throughout the organisation to improve retention and enhance key team leader’s email and copywriting skills 6. Drive email best practice processes and guidance across the wider organisation, including to regional and local parties PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate will be a compelling copywriter with 2-3 years’ experience delivering results-led fundraising or marketing email campaigns. You are a skilled communicator who likes to innovate and have an ear for a winning message. You are also analytically-minded, with the ability to manipulate and probe data, as well as working knowledge of the tools and techniques required, such as A/B testing, segmentation, and email analytics. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, where flexibility is a must, but also take an organised, planning-lead approach to your work.

Experience of writing and optimising high-quality fundraising and/or marketing emails Excellent understanding of large-scale email marketing: strategy, design, sending and data analytics Proven copy writing and editing skills under pressure in fast-paced environments Strong understanding of segmentation, A/B testing, personalisation, reporting insights from data and knowledge of the latest channel marketing ideas Good communication and negotiation skills for exchanging best practice with other team leaders A track record of owning projects and strong time management skills Excellent attention to detail and quality-control An entrepreneurial mind-set: ready to challenge the status quo and come up with new, creative ways to sell ideas Sympathy with aims and objectives of the Liberal Democrats
