A LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER In January, The Providence Journal held open nominations for our first Readers’ Choice Awards, asking readers to tell us their favorite businesses and organizations in 167 categories. Over 11,200 were nominated, and over 105,000 votes were received. The top five nominees in each category then went on to the voting round in February, with over 386,000 more votes cast. The Providence Journal had no hand in selecting nominees or winners. These are your winners – the ones that you felt deserved to be a Readers’ Choice.
