Qualifications Fellows are required to have successfully completed at least one year of graduate studies by program start date. Fellows are selected based on academic achievement, analytical and communication skills, and work experience. The selection process for the program will consist of multiple rounds of interviews and multiple assessment exercises. Candidates should have an academic focus in the areas of public administration, business administrations, public policy, planning, finance, economics, transportation management, public safety or a related discipline. Candidates must have an interest in a career in public service management or port and terminal management.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem solving, analytical, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. At least two years of professional work experience and/or internships in public service, transportation, government or related fields is preferred.

How to Apply Recruitment for the Port of Los Angeles Fellows Program will begin in April and the application deadline is May 9, 2016. Late applications are not accepted. Interviews begin in May. Compensation $15.41/Hour Fellows are allowed to work full-time during the summer beginning in June and part-time during the regular academic year. The Port of Los Angeles is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
