The Preppy Club: Cremieux has a special connection with Saint-Tropez, what is yours? JR: I have a very emotional connection with the city of St-Tropez. I have lived there for more than 20 years, I consider myself today as a true Tropezien.

TPC: Saint-Tropez is known for its festive summers. Nevertheless, during winter we find a quiet and peaceful village. Which season do you prefer? JR: I love all seasons at Sénéquier, precisely because they are all different and appreciable.

TPC: Sénéquier has thrived now for almost 130 years; you have been the manager for the past 8. What has been your main role within this institution? JR: My role has been to humanize this institution and pull it up continuously. The challenge in such an unavoidable place is not to fall in easiness. We must always question ourselves to renew ourselves.

TPC: What is your dream holiday destination for the summer? JR: Saint-Tropez. Why should I leave when I have everything I need here already!

TPC: Sénéquier has become just as iconic as SaintTropez itself. How do you explain the excitement around this legendary café? JR: Sénéquier has always been the place to be and belongs to everyone. The unknown and the known are meeting there every day. One essential factor is the fact that we grew up at the same time as the city. TPC: What are the essentials at Sénéquier that you would recommend? JR: The Pastis! A privileged drink from South of France and perfect for an aperitif. Of course, I also recommend our nougat and the very famous Tropezien pie.

TPC: How did you learn about Cremieux and what was your first impression? JR: I have almost always known Cremieux. They have always been there, questioning themselves all the time about elegance and originality. It’s not a coincidence the brand is still there after 40 years. TPC: What was your first purchase at Cremieux? JR: The shirts, for me it’s the best that I can find. TPC: You see many different looks on the terrace of Sénéquier. What would be yours in your everyday life? JR: I am a big fan of quality, but it is not everything. I always try to remain elegant without any extravagance. TPC: Three words to describe Cremieux? JR: Elegance, quality and details. 12 DANIELCREMIEUX.COM

TPC: Are you more T-shirt or Polo? JR: Polo, it gives me a dressier style while keeping the same comfort as the T-shirt. TPC: What is your must-have accessory for the summer? JR: The Oxford shirt from Cremieux of course! TPC: What is the must have item Cremieux for a successful summer in Saint-Tropez? JR: Shirt and jacket that I think are the flagship products of the brand. and which have largely contributed to the fame of Cremieux. TPC: What is your favorite Southern expression? JR: “Ad Usque qué fidelis” meaning “Faithful forever”.

Raised in France, Maxime moved to NYC to start his 3rd venture and hasn’t left the city since. 24 years old and 4 companies launched; Maxime considers himself as a “Founder & Maker”, at the crossroads of business management, engineering, and design. He is currently serving as CEO in the new startup he founded: Stellar Base. We met with him in Soho, near his corporate offices, to get to know more about him. The Preppy Club: Can you tell us a bit more about your start in NYC? MG: I moved to new york in 2012 with 3 roommates who came along with me from business school. Two weeks later, I met Kenneth Schlenker, who happened to be launching an art company. 45 minutes into the meeting - I was sold on the idea and I started to code and design the first version of the Gertrude website right there. That’s why at 20 years old I decided to drop out of school, stay in New York and go after the art market. TPC: What is a typical day for you? MG: I wake up every day around 8am - I spend my day between my home office and the prehype office based in SoHo, handling work for Stellar Base and Rad.report. I normally take a break around 8pm to work out, swim, cook dinner before writing some more code. I usually spend some time with my girlfriend and my two roommates. TPC: What kind of outfit do you usually wear at work? MG: Black jeans and dark sweatshirts. Always a white t-shirt underneath - I own 20 of them. White sneakers. TPC: What would you wear at the MET Gala? MG: I will wear a Cremieux suit, I haven’t decided on

the shoes yet. I won’t go like Kanye West though. TPC: Would you say that Fashion and Technology go well together? MG: It does for two reasons: 1. Design has become more of a priority in tech over the past few years which has force techies to be more aware of style in all aspects of their life. 2. In turn, tech has already and will continue to push fashion forward. For example, I think in the near future we will see very short delivery for personally tailored clothes thanks to technological advancements in production of clothing and logistics. TPC: When traveling, what are your fashion essentials? MG: Chino pants, Lemaire turtleneck, Black Weston shoes - a symbolic gift from my dad who taught me entrepreneurship when I was growing up in Le Mans, Persol sunglasses, anda black sushi master shirt. TPC: Fill the sentence “Dress like _____, act like _____” MG: Dress like Chirac, act like Picasso TPC: What is your favorite Cremieux item? MG: The flannel trousers - light gray 13 DANIELCREMIEUX.COM

TPC: How would you describe a Cremieux store in a few words? MG: Contemporary chic elegant and breathable. TPC: What’s the most interesting thing about Fashion? MG: The social aspect of it. A lot of people are trying to define themselves with what they wear and adjust to the context they’re in. I’m really fascinated by this weird relationship we have with clothing and how far it goes in the perception by others. TPC: What French icon you would love to have dinner with? MG: Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo from Daft Punk TPC: Share with us your next adventures MG: I’m currently working on StellarFormation.com through my company Stellar Base - it’s a website to incorporate your business in the USA. We’re trying to simplify in a short form the complex administrative process that is the incorporation of a company. TPC: Pick one: robot or human MG: Bot-man

I love watching people and how they dress, there are no limits and endless opportunities and surprises! It’s truly inspiring! TPC: Finish the sentence “Elegance is …”? J: Elegance can be simple as it can be complicated but above all elegance is having good manners in the way you talk to people. TPC: What will be your Cremieux must-have this Spring-Summer? J: The white sweatshirt with “Tropezien” – stylish and fun! TPC: Three words to define Cremieux? J: Rive Gauche with an inspirational prep style twist.
