Things You Should Know to Vote Early at the UNT Gateway

Am I registered to vote in Denton County? Check here. (You must be registered in Denton County to vote on campus.) Yes! Great! Move on to step 2! No….Are you registered to vote in Texas? Check here. If yes, and you can’t make it home to vote, request a mail in ballot from your home county election administration by Friday, October 28th here (form for Texas counties only.) No? If you think you should be registered and have questions, contact the Texas Secretary of State at 1-800-252-VOTE.

What about photo ID? You will need one of the following forms of identification* (with the exception of the U.S. citizenship certificate, the identification must be current or have expired no more than 4 years): Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS Texas personal identification card issued by DPS Texas license to carry a handgun issued by DPS United States military identification card United States citizenship certificate (with photograph) United States passport *Additional forms of identification can be found at the Texas Secretary of State website

What’s on the ballot? You can get a sample ballot the same place you check to see if you are registered to vote here. (After you enter your information and click search, you will see a box on the Voter Eligibility Results page called MY ELECTIONS, click the View Sample Ballot link inside that box.)

Who do I vote for? The League of Women Voters of Denton (a non-partisan organization) has a Voter’s Guide. They ask the candidates questions and the League compiles their answers in one document here.

When can I vote? You can early vote at the UNT Gateway on the following days and times: Monday-Friday October 24-28 8am-5pm Saturday October 29 7am-7pm Sunday October 30 1pm-6pm Monday-Friday October 31-November 4 7am-7pm
