Think future! the new careers guidance service for Schools Job Type: Career Partners Salary: £negotiable Location: UK Closing date: 26 April 2013 Think Future will harness technology to bring together schools, parents and learners with a named local careers professional, providing well researched, up to date, age appropriate information about occupations, and qualifications and teaching materials to embed careers within the school curriculum with minimum disruption. Local careers professionals will be the face and the main point of contact that schools have with Think Future, you will be an advocate for this exciting new and growing service. Using your contacts with local employers and education providers, you will:    

Write blogs on local issues including labour market information, colleges and industries aimed at the 14-16 audience, and parents/teachers. Train teachers within schools on using Think Future and best practice in careers education lessons. Respond to online queries from teachers, learners and parents at allocated schools. Provide additional face-to-face guidance, group sessions for learners and training for teachers.

Pearson will provide training to ensure that you provide the highest quality service to your audience. To be eligible for this role you must:   

Have at least 3 years’ experience in providing career guidance Be qualified to at least level 6 in careers guidance Specialise in careers guidance for young people aged 13-17
