The winner, MR ORANGE (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 14 March 2018 where the gelding finished ninth of nine, beaten 14 lengths. Paul Midgley’s explanation that the gelding benefited from the application of a visor for the first time and a return to turf, was noted. MR ORANGE (IRE) was routine tested. Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that MISTER BELEVEDERE, unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities. YORKSHIRE ROVER, was withdrawn by the Stewards at 5.57 having unseated the rider on the way to the start and run loose for several minutes. The Starter reported that UNNOTICED was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 18.02. Ollie Pears was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test. Kevin Stott, the rider of HADLEY, placed second, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip down the shoulder in the forehand position. Following the race, Nathan Evans reported that MELANIEMILLIE, unplaced, stumbled leaving the stalls.
