Permission was given for ROYAL CONNOISSEUR (IRE) and KODY RIDGE (IRE) to go early to post. DIRCHILL (IRE) lost its left hind shoe on the way to the start. As the trainer had indicated at declaration prior to racing that the gelding should not be withdrawn in the event that it shed a plate, DIRCHILL was able to run.

The winner, MR ORANGE (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 14 March 2018 where the gelding finished ninth of nine, beaten 14 lengths. Paul Midgley’s explanation that the gelding benefited from the application of a visor for the first time and a return to turf, was noted. MR ORANGE (IRE) was routine tested. Permission was given for PALMER (IRE) to go early to post. Approaching the furlong marker, LITTLE BOY BLUE, unplaced, hung right causing LORD RIDDIFORD (IRE), unplaced, and BILLY DYLAN (IRE), unplaced, to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that MISTER BELEVEDERE, unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities. James Sullivan reported that BE PERFECT (USA), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and missed the break. Race 6 - 4:50pm. THE LYNDSEY'S 40TH BIRTHDAY NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 5) (DIV I)

Permission was given for NEW GRADUATE (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring and for PACIFIC FLEET (USA) to go early to post.

Michael Easterby was fined £320 as the record of vaccinations on the passport of CARLTON THOMAS had been altered, this being his third offence within twelve months. Following the race, James Tate’s representative reported that NEW GRADUATE (IRE), placed second, had lost its right hind shoe. Race 7 - 5:25pm. THE LYNDSEY'S 40TH BIRTHDAY NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 5) (DIV II)

The Starter reported that LANGHO (IRE) refused to enter stalls. Julie Camacho was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test. Permission was given for MELANIEMILLIE and ALLUX BOY (IRE) to go early to post. YORKSHIRE ROVER, was withdrawn by the Stewards at 5.57 having unseated the rider on the way to the start and run loose for several minutes. The Starter reported that UNNOTICED was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 18.02. Ollie Pears was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test. Kevin Stott, the rider of HADLEY, placed second, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip down the shoulder in the forehand position. Following the race, Nathan Evans reported that MELANIEMILLIE, unplaced, stumbled leaving the stalls.
