Time for me means TIME for you... April, May & June 2018 Hello Carers, here is your Spring programme. Thank you for joining in the activities during the Winter. There are some nice outdoor events at the Holland Park Ecology Centre included in this programme and many other activities that may interest you, hopefully you can join us, try new things and have some fun. To book a space call Reception on 020 8962 4141 ask for Ashley’s TFM Chelsea trips. All activities must be booked in advance, but to keep things fair please book only 5 activities at once. Please note these activities are for unpaid carers, over 50 and living in South Kensington and Chelsea.

The Porchester Spa - Friday 6th April & 4th May - Come and enjoy a sauna and steam, and let your troubles drift away. Sorry guy’s this one is for ladies only. We will meet at the Porchester Spa at 10.15am. Must Book! There are 8 free day passes available.

Thursday 12th April - Seeds of Spring at Holland Park Ecology Centre. Great opportunity to enjoy and learn about the Wildlife Garden and the Edible Teaching Garden. Sow some seeds and help prepare the garden for the coming season. We will meet at the café in Holland Park at midday for a cuppa before joining in the drop in session at 12.30pm. There are 6 free spaces available. Friday 13th April - Charles II Art & Power at The Queens Gallery Buckingham Palace. After a decade of austere republican rule, the restoration of the monarchy in 1660 led to a resurgence of the arts in England. The court once again became a centre for leading artists and craftsmen and the collection of the great works of art that glorified the monarchy and reinforced Charles II’s right to rule. We will meet at the Queens Gallery Buckingham Palace at 1pm. There are 7 spaces available. Friday 20th April - Chelsea Physic Garden. Back by popular demand! Join us for a tranquil stroll around these wonderful gardens, and greenhouse, explore the history of the gardeners to the Society of Apothecaries and enjoy an exotic array of flowers and plants from all around the World. We will meet there at 12pm. There are 7 free tickets available. Friday 27th April - The Magazine Afternoon Tea “the coolest afternoon tea in London” . Situated just north of the Serpentine Bridge and within the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, this stunning venue is the perfect place to indulge in a fabulous afternoon tea served with a delicate and delicious platter of sandwiches and cakes presented with a modern twist. We will meet at The Magazine at 2.30pm. There are 7 spaces available. You will need to contribute £10 towards the cost of the meal.

Friday 4th May—Porchester Spa, see overleaf. There are 8 free day passes available.

Thursday 17th May - Box Hill. Join us for some lovely English countryside air and tranquillity in these Surrey Hills. There is some great scenery and walks, abundant with wildlife to spot, and you can try one of their self-guided trails and get lost the beauty of it all. There is also a shop and café selling home made snacks and cakes. This is a full day trip in a 16 seater minibus which will collect us from New Horizons. The minibus will pick us up from outside New Horizons will meet at 10.30am. We will leave there at 4pm. There are 15 spaces available. You will need to contribute £5 towards the cost. Friday 25th May - Mind, Body & Spirit Festival at Olympia. This festival will feature some of the most inspirational and motivational speakers, along with musicians, artists and performers from across the globe. You can also meet a host of exhibitors promoting wellbeing products, organic food and healing products. You can try out some freebies and participate in workshops and taster sessions. We will meet at Olympia at 11am. There are 6 free tickets available.

Thursday 31st May - Birds of Holland Park at the Ecology Centre. We will be finding out more about the different birds who live in the park. Take part in a bird quiz and make a clay bird to take home. All from the wonderful setting of the Ecology Centre building in the park. We will meet at the café in Holland Park at midday for a cuppa before joining in the drop in session at 12.30pm. There are 6 free spaces available. Friday 8th June - Burgh House Museum & Cream Tea. Discover one of London’s hidden treasures at this wonderful house museum and art gallery, dedicated to the history of Hampstead. It is a grade 1 listed Queen Anne House built when Hampstead Wells was a spa destination. We will also enjoy a cream tea in their Buttery Café; the only Hampstead garden café. We will meet at Hampstead Tube station at 1pm. There are 7 spaces available.

Monday 11th June to Sunday 17th June is Carers Week - Cares Network have a packed programme of activities for RBKC carers including a Health & Information Day on Friday 15 June from 2pm to 5pm at Westbourne Grove Church, W11 2RW. Come along and get information on local services. You will also be able to enjoy free massage therapies & a light lunch will be provided. To register for this event and find out about other events during the week call 020 8960 3033 or [email protected] Thursday 21st June - Day Trip to Broadstairs. The first of our day trips this year, returning to Broadstairs by popular demand. Get away from London for the day, have a stroll along the beach and enjoy a fish and chip meal on the project. There are two coach pick up points for this trip. Pick up 1 from St Charles Centre for Health & Wellbeing at 10.30am, Pick up 2 is from the corner of Sloane Street and Cadogan Gate at 11am. There are 15 spaces available for this full day trip. Please confirm your pick up point when booking your space. We return at 6pm, arriving at appx 8pm Thursday 28th June - Fox Talk at Holland Park Ecology Centre. Enjoy an early evening talk lead by an expert from the London Fox Project to dispel some urban myths about these wily creatures. We will be meet at the Ecology Centre at 6.15pm, the talk finishes at 8pm. There are 6 spaces available for this free event.
