TIPS FOR BEFORE YOU RECRUIT FINALIZE THE DETAILS EARLY It’s important to have the details of your Recruitment events worked out well in advance so that those who want to attend can plan ahead. Picking the time and location and submitting reservations early will make it easier to get a jump on your advertising too. If you are having trouble finalizing the room reservation, you can advertise a central place to meet and then take attendees to the reserved location.

CREATE A MARKETING PLAN

GET EVERYONE INVOLVED Though Recruitment Advisors are tasked with the majority of planning and executing recruitment events, recruitment is really a Chapter-wide effort. Here are some ways to get all Members involved:

Check out your school’s website for information on all the ways that your Chapter can advertise on campus. Your marketing plan should include the timing for each type of advertisement and who will be responsible for making sure it happens. Hanging posters and banners, putting ads on digital signs, chalking, tabling, and email blasts are just some of the ways to reach PNMs. And don’t forget about social media!

PLAN, PREPARE, PRACTICE

In addition to planning engaging and effective Recruitment events, it is important that PNMs also see that your Chapter is knowledgeable and well-prepared. Arriving early to prepare for a Recruitment event and practicing Invitational Meeting Presentations are two things you can do to make sure things go off without a hitch!

MAKE IT PERSONAL No one likes to feel like a number. Make it a point to communicate personally with each Potential New Member who attends a Recruitment event. Before Recruitment starts you should be thinking about how you will personally invite and follow-up with PNMs and assigning Brothers to make sure it happens.

Spend time during Chapter asking for recommendations of students to add to the PNM List Capitalize on everyone’s talents! Artistic Brothers can design posters and banners and a Brother who is good with technology can keep the Chapter website updated Ask for volunteers to speak at Invitational Meetings to share why they joined Phi Sigma Pi and what they love most about being a Member. Are all the roles already filled at your Invitation Meetings or Recruitment Events? Assign Brothers to take pictures to use on social media, website or story board.
