RHMB 50

Titan RHMB50 (4 way & 6 way) Bronze Fire Monitor Nominal flow 5,000 l/min z Simple and reliable design z Low maintenance z Most models available with lever or gearbox control z Suitable for use where explosive atmospheres may be present

The Angus RHMB50 bronze fire monitor is designed for hydraulic remote control in both the horizontal and vertical planes and for remote control of a fog/jet nozzle or branch pipe spreader where fitted. Computer designed guide vanes cast into the body reduce turbulence and spin in the water stream lowering pressure loss and improving jet reach. Hydraulic motors, fitted to the monitor body move the waterway in the horizontal and vertical planes while hydraulic pistons are used to move a fog/jet nozzle or foam cannon spreader. Hydraulic power is normally supplied from a remote control panel containing an electrical or water pressure driven hydraulic power pack. Hydraulic power is transmitted to the monitor via single or multi core hydraulic tubing. Both the hydraulic motors and the hydraulic pistons fitted to the monitor are suitable for use in areas where explosive gasses may be present.

Hydraulic fluid is normally fed to the motors from the base of the monitor via flexible hydraulic pipes which allow the monitor to rotate 360º stop to stop. Angus hydraulic monitors come as standard with a dual hydraulic system for horizontal and vertical movement (4 way). Where a hydraulically operated fog/jet nozzle or foam cannon spreader is specified, pipes and valves for an additional hydraulic circuit are supplied (6 way) Body materials Bronze body to EN CC491K, equivalent to LG2, Red Brass, ASTM B62 and UNI 7013-8

Gearbox specification Worm and shaft material: stainless steel SS316 Wheel material: bronze as monitor body Worm bearings: twin ball race Hand wheels: Duraplast Weight 62 kg Hydraulic motor characteristics: Working oil pressure: minimum 70 bar – maximum 110 bar Oil consumption in horizontal mode: 3.2 l/min Oil consumption in vertical mode: 1.75 l/min Oil pipe inlet connection (via the recirculation valves) 3/8” BSP F Manual operation: The hydraulic motors for the horizontal and vertical movements are fitted with hand wheels for manual operation in the event of hydraulic power failure. In order to allow the manual hand wheels to be operated each hydraulic circuit is fitted with a hand valve which can be opened to allow the hydraulic fluid to re-circulate. Note: The jet throw depends on a number of variables such as wind direction, type and concentration of foam in the water and the condition of the monitor water ways and nozzle. For throw and height calculations at different inlet pressures and flows and for different nozzles and angles refer to the Angus interactive electronic data sheet.
