How to Choose Your 2016-2017 Courses IMPORTANT: COMPLETING ONLINE COURSE SELECTION IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE THESE COURSES NEXT YEAR. YOUR SCHEDULE WILL BE CREATED BASED ON COURSE AVAILABILITY, CREDITS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION AND/OR COACH/SPONSOR APPROVAL IN SOME CASES.
Step 1: Go to www.newcaneyisd.org
Step 2: Click on the Parents ribbon located in the top right corner of the page.
Step 3: Click on the Grade Book link.
Step 4: In the Login Area drop-down menu, select Parent/Student Access
Step 5: Login to Skyward using your username and password. Unless you have previously logged in and updated your settings, your password is your ID NUMBER.
Step 6: Click on Schedule located in the menu on the left.
Step 6: Click on View Requests for 2016-2017 in NEW CANEY HS
Step 7: To add courses, click on the course under Available Courses for 2016-2017
HINT: To search for a specific course, enter the name here and click Search.
Then, click Add Course. Repeat this step until you have selected a maximum of 9 credits.
What do I do if I change my mind or select the wrong course?
Click on the course under Selected Courses and then click Remove Courses.
Step 8: Click on Request Alternates to select additional courses, in case your first choices are not available.
Step 9: Close the window when you are finished.

English Math Science Social Studies: • Current Juniors should select Government & Economics (These are separate, one-semester courses and each much be selected)
