In the enclosed packet, you will find: 1) A current job description 2) An application for employment 3) An availability schedule Please fill out the application form and the availability schedule as soon as possible and return them to the WRC, located in McElroy 141. If the WRC is closed, please slide it under the front door. Applications will be accepted starting immediately and are due on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. After this date, you will be e-mailed if you are selected for an interview. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer an interview to each applicant. Job Description for the Women’s Resource Center Undergraduate Student Staff The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a welcoming space committed to addressing women’s issues within the BC community and beyond. Through educational programs, supportive resources, and a caring community, we strive to support, educate, and empower individuals as they grow and develop. We seek to present, integrate, and respect diverse viewpoints and welcome all members of the BC community to participate and contribute towards this goal. The WRC is looking for student staff members with a variety of ideas and experiences. Throughout the academic year, the staff will organize and participate in campus outreach, awareness programs, and a variety of events and lectures sponsored and co-sponsored by the WRC (i.e., Take Back the Night, Love Your Body Campaign, Concerned About Rape Education (C.A.R.E.) Week, Computer Literary Program, Think Tank, etc.) Applicants must have an interest in sharing their talents to plan, implement, and evaluate all programs for the BC community. Responsibilities for the WRC undergraduate student staff include:  Contribute 10-12 hours a week to the WRC; this time is paid and work done during this time must be WRC-related.  Attend an all-staff retreat before the start of each semester.  Attend weekly 2-hour staff meeting (day and time to be agreed upon by staff).  Coordinate campus-wide projects and programs on a variety of women’s issues. Each WRC staff member takes responsibility for initiating, planning, and implementing 2-3 programs per semester based on her talents, interests, and vision.  Meet bi-weekly with the WRC Director and the WRC Graduate Assistant for individual staff supervision, and work closely with faculty, staff, and administration of the University.  Respond to all inquiries by walk-in, phone, or email in a timely and supportive manner.  Assist in maintaining the office’s resources and make appropriate referrals to campus resources when needed. We are looking for energetic, caring, committed individuals who have the following characteristics:  Have a desire to serve others and affect positive change  Show interest in and commitment to women’s issues  Are able to work collaboratively with team members to achieve WRC goals  Respond creatively to the needs of the women and men of Boston College  Administrative/organizational skills (typing, filing, operating phones)  Demonstrate some computer skills (specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher; preferred Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and web design)
