Todd Hemphill, Midlothian ISD Board President Todd Hemphill has a soft spot in his heart for children. He has devoted his life to coaching youth sports and working with kids, particularly those that may fall outside of the box. His specific attention is on students who are not excelling in the classroom, fine arts or athletics. He focuses on segments of the student population that are not typically represented, like special education students. During the workday, Mr. Hemphill serves the technology world at a company that builds online transaction processing software. When you use your credit card at a store, chances are it’s Hemphill’s company that reads the information, checks the validity of your account and then credits the vendor while debiting your balance—all within nanoseconds. His exposure to advancing technologies throughout his career provides valuable insight as an MISD Trustee. His extensive travels have taken him across the US and to almost fifty foreign countries serving diverse clients and allowing him to “see the world and how it Shelley, Todd, Joshua, Jacob and operates.” This broad perspective provides the Jonathan Hemphill. background to consider “best practices from several different viewpoints” when he makes decisions to benefit the Midlothian School District. Mr. Hemphill and his wife Shelley married in 1991 after becoming engaged a month after they met. They moved to Midlothian in 1999 seeking more space and an ideal location to raise their children. Jacob is a MHS graduate while Josh is a high school junior and Jonathan is a freshman. The Hemphills love to travel and have adopted several elderly pets. Hemphill’s broad experience and caring attitude provide strong leadership to the Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees.
