TOWNSHIP OF SADDLE BROOK ORDINANCE # 1630-17 ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 ENTITLED “ADMINISTRATION OF GOVERNMENT” WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Township of Saddle Brook recognize the need to amend the Chapter 5 of the Township Ordinance to require ethics training for the Planning Board and the Zoning Board as follows: Now, therefore, be it ordained as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 5 is amended and supplemented to add the following to Chapter 5, Entitled “Administration of Government”: a. The following is added to the end of Chapter 5, Section 8, “All members of the Planning Board are required to undergo ethics training, which shall be conducted by the attorney for the Planning Board. Said training shall be conducted each year and shall be taken by the said member at the time it is conducted, or shall be subject to removal by the Township Council. b. The following is added to the end of Chapter 5, Section 9, “All members of the Zoning Board are required to undergo ethics training, which shall be conducted by the attorney for the Zoning Board. Said training shall be conducted each year and shall be taken by the member at the time it is conducted, or said member shall be subject to removal by the Township Council. SECTION 2. All other parts, portions and provisions of Chapter 5 of the Township of Saddle Brook Code, be and the same, are hereby ratified and confirmed, except where inconsistent with the terms thereof. In the event of any such inconsistency, the terms of this Ordinance shall be deemed to govern. SECTION 3. The terms of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable; should any part, portion or provision hereof be declared invalid or unconstitutional, said finding shall not affect any other part, portion or provision thereof. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication according to law.
