The Town of Chapel Hill is currently looking for community members to serve on the Grievance Hearing Board, a volunteer advisory board to the Town Council. There are currently openings for three new members. This board works to ensure that Town employees’ voices are heard in manner consistent with Town values and policies. Grievance Hearing Board members serve threeyear terms. The board meets as needed at Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The average time commitment to serve on this board varies, since the board convenes only when a hearing is scheduled, though generally the board meets no more than four times a year. No experience is required—new members will receive training and guidance to support their success. To apply, submit an application online by noon on June 18, 2018 at www.townofchapelhill.org/boards. Town Council will make appointments to the Grievance Hearing Board on June 27, 2018.

The Grievance Hearing Board is composed of eight (8) members who reside within the corporate limits of the Town of Chapel Hill and are appointed by the Council. Early Voting Early voting for primaries begins Thursday, April 19 and ends Saturday, May 8. Same Day Registration is allowed during early voting period—bring a valid ID showing correct name and current address (does not have to be a photo ID). Are you voting by absentee ballot? Coming Up: Rodeo on Rosemary Try something new at the Rodeo on Rosemary from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, on Rosemary Street between Henderson Street and North Columbia Street. The event brings together more than a dozen of the Triangle’s most popular food trucks. New this year: a tasting menu. Each truck will sell a sampling item priced at $5 or less for guests to try out dishes from a variety of food trucks. Sampler menu items range from pizza slices, barbeque sliders, and dumplings to an array of tacos, sandwiches and sides. Information: bit.ly/2GQUDxm

Tar Heel 10 Miler Traffic Impacts The Tar Heel 10 Miler will cause some impacts to traffic and Chapel Hill Transit on Saturday, April 21. People who drive are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays between 6 and 10 a.m. Raleigh Road will be closed to traffic between Country Club Road and the intersection of 15/501 from 6 to 10 a.m. Other roads along the course will be closed and then re-opened on a rolling basis as runners pass by. The Chapel Hill Police Department will have officers stationed at various intersections to guide people who drive and ensure public safety. The roadways will clear and normal traffic is expected to resume by 10 a.m. Information: tarheel10miler.com
