Tracy Police to Hold Two Town Hall Meetings – Quality of Life Issues The Tracy Police Department is seeking your input. Community engagement is of the utmost importance to policing and the community based approach we take at the Tracy Police Department. We have several mechanisms to help in that effort such as Volunteers in Policing, the Chief’s Citizens’ Advisory Board, and Neighborhood Watch Programs. We recognize not everyone can make the significant time commitments some of these programs require. This September, Tracy Police Department will be holding two Town Hall Meetings with the hopes of furthering community dialogue and engagement regarding quality of life issues impacting our community. Public concern on issues such as homelessness, traffic safety, panhandling, blight, and trespassing have an effect on the community. The realities and perceptions resulting from these concerns have a direct and very real impact on us all. By having an open and continuous dialogue, we can discuss some of these concerns and community based approaches being undertaken as well as giving citizens the opportunity to offer ideas to help with long-term solutions. We welcome open dialogue with community members as we work together to make the City of Tracy a more robust city, in which to work, live, and play. The Tracy Police Department’s Vision Statement is to “Preserve the safety and high quality of life in Tracy through values-based policing.” In that spirit, please come join Chief Larry Esquivel, members of the Tracy Police Department, as well as representatives from Public Works and Code Enforcement to discuss these issues and other quality of life concerns. th
