CERTIFIED SNOW PRODUCT TRAINING Snow is committed to helping customers maximize their return on investment through effective training courses designed for both new and experienced SAM professionals. Snow offers dedicated training courses for end user customers and accredited partners, all delivered by certified expert instructors. Snow training courses focus on best practices and theory, balanced by practical exercises, culminating with an exam at the end of the training day. Training material and courses are provided in English; sometimes our trainers are able to deliver training in the local language. Students will, upon passing the exam, receive an official certificate of achievement. A second attempt at the exam is included in the cost of the course. Any further retakes will incur a cost.

CERTIFICATION BENEFITS Individuals that attend a course and pass the certification exam will have demonstrated that they have achieved a level of competence and understanding of the specific aspects of Snow License Manager (SLM) and other Snow solutions covered in the course. LEARNING PATH A customer may attend any combination of courses depending on their role, but ideally an on premise customer should have attended the Certified Snow Administrator (CSA) and Certified Snow Specialist (CSS) even if not by the same individual. Similarly a customer should ideally attend Certified Snow Advanced Specialist (CSAS) after attending Certified Snow Specialist (CSS).

Through a combination of presentation, interactive discussion, practical hands-on assignments and a short exam you will gain an understanding of the risks, costs, challenges and benefits associated with SAM and the processes necessary to effectively manage your hardware and software assets. Using Snow License Manager web user interface you will learn how to maximize your return on the value of your Snow investment to: • Manage the entire life cycle of your hardware and software assets • Enter and manage license agreements and entitlement • Track software usage and installed location and learn how to save costs on software agreement and purchases. Through a combination of presentation, interactive discussion, practical hands-on assignments and a short exam you will gain an understanding of troubleshooting techniques from the installation of a Snow Inventory Client for Windows and the processes from collection, transmission, processing and reviewing/ reporting inventory data. On completing this course you will also be able to understand how to successfully configure and manage your Snow License Manager installation by setting up effective Users, Roles and Organizational Units as well as other essential functions. You will work with a typical Snow License Manager installation and the Snow Inventory Agent for Windows. COURSE OUTLINE • • • • • • • •

System overview Gathering inventory data Receiving inventory data Processing inventory data Reviewing inventory data Administration and configuration Troubleshooting Assignments and practical exercises.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND This is a technical specialist course and is intended for those who are responsible for configuring, managing, supporting and maintaining the Snow License Manager installation in the business. They may not be the main stakeholder(s) or owner(s) in overall control of the SAM responsibility but will work in support of them. Typically: • IT/Service Desk Technicians • Snow License Manager Administrators • Those who have worked with previous versions of Snow License Manager and want an update on the new interface and functions. Please note, this course is not applicable for customers with Snow License Manager hosted on a Service Provider Edition.

CERTIFIED SNOW ENGINEER (CSE)

DURATION 2 Days LOCATION See online for details of our training venues DATES See online for training dates http://www.snowsoftware.com/int/services/snow-product-training This two-day classroom-based certification course expands on the accumulated knowledge for partners who have attended and passed the Certified Snow Administrator (CSA), Certified Snow Specialist (CSS) as well as the Certified Snow Advanced Specialist (CSAS) courses. COURSE OUTLINE Through a combination of presentation, interactive discussion and practical hands-on assignments you will gain a more in-depth look at: • • • • •

Solution Architecture System Requirements Product Deep Dive Snow Inventory Snow License Manager Databases.

You will work with the Snow License Manager Web UI, the Snow Management and Configuration Center, Inventory Data Processor, Inventory Data Receiver as well as the Snow Integration Manager and the Snow Inventory Client for Windows. On completion of the course you will sit a certification exam. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This is a technical specialist course intended for those individuals wishing to gain Certified Snow Engineer accreditation and who are responsible for installing, upgrading and supporting Snow License Manager and its associated components. Participants should have attended and passed the Certified Snow Administrator (CSA) and Certified Snow Specialist (CSS). Passing the Certified Snow Advanced Specialist (CSAS) is optional.

NOTES Any of the above courses can be delivered on site if required, however careful consideration should be taken in terms of scheduling and cost. The training cost will be invoiced when course registration is received by Snow Software. STANDARD ON-SITE TRAINING Courses as detailed above can be delivered on site with no customization of content and duration. This will require each delegate to have internet and rdp access to a copy of the Snow Training Virtual Machine to ensure consistent structure and outcome of the assignments and content and flow of the course material. CUSTOM/BESPOKE ON-SITE TRAINING WITH CUSTOMER DATA Where it is felt that due to distance, perceived cost, numbers of delegates etc., it is important to ensure the course content, structure and duration of the desired course is clearly defined and agreed with the customer before agreeing price and scheduled delivery date. Access to the customer data must be available to assist in designing appropriate presentation content and assignments. Scheduling and pricing of these courses will be dependent on the time to design the course as well as logistics concerning duration, accommodation, travel, expenses etc. Customized training will not be delivered as a certification course. It is recommended that where possible one delegate from a business with this requirement should attended a standard classroom based course to gain an understanding of the course that they wish to customise. This will enable them to assist in the definition of the custom training they require. CANCELLATION Snow Software reserves the right to cancel and reschedule a course up to five working days before the start day of the course. Registered delegates will be notified by email and an alternative course date will be offered. A registered delegate may cancel and request to reschedule their course attendance by email five working days before the start day of the course. Notification of cancellation received within less than five working days will not qualify for course reschedule.
