What is the Games Route Network?

A crucial part of any major multi-sport event

A £4.5 million investment to Keep Glasgow Moving

Reliably and efficiently moving athletes between key venues

Covers around 30km, out and back

Just 13.5% will make use of dedicated lanes for Games travel

When will it be in place? •

Work getting underway on route and will continue into June

Will be fully operational from 21 July

www.getreadyglasgow.com

Local Area Traffic Management and Parking (LATM&P)? •

Traffic management to protect the residents and businesses around competition venues (like on event days around the football stadiums)

Not like London 2012 measures. Less access control.

Key objectives: •

Protect residents and businesses from informal spectator parking

Ensure Games related traffic can access the venues

www.getreadyglasgow.com

Where will LATM&P be in place? •

Within 10 minutes of a venue, parking restrictions are likely to be in force in order to protect residents and businesses

Within 20 minutes of a venue, assessments are being conducted as to which areas may require protection

Where will I find out about it? •

Our intention is that you will have access to an online mapping system which will allow you to view the areas in which road restrictions will be in place

www.getreadyglasgow.com

When will LATM&P be in place? •

The detailed design process is currently ongoing. This will inform the detail of when measures will be in place

We are working to ensure that protective measures are kept to the minimum necessary to keep Glasgow moving and protect residents and businesses

When will I find out about it? •

It is planned to communicate the detailed designs for LATM&P through a series of sessions in May or earlier if possible

Earlier than for London 2012. www.getreadyglasgow.com

LATM&P Next Steps Local Area Traffic Management and Parking Design Finalised • Beginning of April/start of May Communication Events by Venue • From March to Games Permit Allocations where necessary • May - June Implementation of Measures • By venue requirement Enforcement

• By venue requirement

www.getreadyglasgow.com

Active travel enhancements •

Cycle parking will be provided across all venues

700 cycle parking spaces

Bike Hire in place for Games time

Legacy!!

www.getreadyglasgow.com

Public transport enhancements •

Providing additional capacity on core Glasgow rail routes that serve our venues;

Providing additional capacity on the wider rail network;

G2014 – Helping You Get Games Ready

www.getreadyglasgow.com

“Helping everyone get ready” •

Spectators - information, advice and opportunity to plan their journey

Those living, working and playing – understanding that things will be different

And of course the business community…….

www.getreadyglasgow.com

Glasgow and the surrounding area will operate differently in transport terms, it will be busier than usual This is an amazing ‘once in a lifetime’ trade opportunity

We are here to help you get Games Ready …..but we can only help you help yourselves

To keep your business running smoothly and make the most of the opportunities that the Games present, it will be necessary to understand how your operations may be affected and plan ahead.

www.getreadyglasgow.com

We are asking businesses to plan using The 4 Rs and use all the information we have available. Retime, Reroute, Re-mode, Reduce Retime

– Peak spreading, starting earlier, leaving earlier, deliveries outside of operational hours of LATM&P/GRN

Reroute

– Avoid driving around venues at competition times, use a different station if yours is likely to be busy

Re-mode – It will be a fabulous walking and cycling city in the summer Reduce

– Can you pre order non perishables, do you have staff who would like to work from home 1 day of the Games
