SOLID STATE DEVICES/ STORAGE TRENDS

BUSINESS CONTINUITY

Roughly half of respondents are using or implementing Solid State Devices (SSD) in the data center now. Symantec can help customers increase the performance of their SSD environments with Symantec Storage Foundation using new features like SmartIO and Flexible Storage Sharing.

62% of respondents say Business Continuity (BC) is extremely or somewhat important to their organization – Symantec has a comprehensive BC solution that fully protects data and applications. Visit symantec.com/businesscontinuity for more info.

62% of respondents that have deployed SSD are using them for critical business applications with performance and cost being the key drivers (81% and 51% of respondents respectively). If performance is the driver for SSD, Symantec’s solution can help you realize 400% performance improvement over traditional SAN using your SSD investments.1 However, for those that are not using SSD, cost is the number one prohibitor (69% of respondents). Symantec not only increases performance over traditional SAN, we can help users cut cost (Symantec Cluster File System with SSDs can provide up to 80% cost savings over traditional SAN1).

Only 25% of respondents say they are prepared to handle BC incidents. Symantec can protect your business and applications from the smallest occurrences such as a hardware failure or human error to the widest natural disaster scenarios. However, Half of the respondents require sub-4 hour service levels for their business objectives. Symantec provides a wide spectrum of availability solutions from data back up to fully automated business continuity implementations. Symantec helps you find the right business continuity solution based on the requirements of your business.
